While we wait...

I like intrigue-filled, unstable and desperate governments of all kinds. They're all fun in their own way when they're put in a quandry, and that they almost always are. ;)

even though the Finland in that game did amazingly well.

Why thank you :p

As for the government question, I tend to take a rather benevolent dictatorship course more often than not, with meritocratic social mobility balancing rather strict/ordered control over citizen's lives. Lord knows they can't think for themselves, so trained men must think for them. Corruption can be a problem, but thats what death is for. Pragmatic Platonic Politeia, when I can manage. I have a bad habit of that in fresh starts. I probably overdescribe my governmental system, but some mods appreciate it I think. For example, in Farow's NES my government is autocratic and omnipresent, but there exists a complex system of checks and balances to allieviate consolidation of power within the government, while maintaining its overall power.

Government never really mattered much to me; perhaps it should. INES is very bland in terms of governments. Every single nation is some sort of monarchy or another.

Mine was mildly interesting/different, at least in the way succession worked. Don't worry, it will change and hopefully be somewhat more interesting this upcoming turn.

A plethora of monarchies isn't terribly uncommon, especially for the time period and size of countries.

I can't wait to see America's power broken before the world when you invade Iran. Failure in Iraq and Afghanistan hasn't been enough for you? Want to fail in Iran too?
Were you born so presumptuous, or did you have to work hard at it?

Well this will be nice to see. Mighty American humbled again.

Failure in Iraq and Afghanistan (though the latter isn't a failure, it's simply that we're almost literally ignoring the country outside of Kabul) is directly related to the fact that the government is afraid to send more troops there. If they could manage to rally the home front, the American government could likely conquer the world, though admittedly it would be radioactive.

For NESing, I prefer either despotic for the fact that you can override your people's stupidity, or democracy to occupy the moral high ground. I usually go for the former.

I prefer a Benevolent Imperial Divine Monarchy :D Of course, certain unknowledgeable nesers call this an "overcentralized absolute monarchy." I also have a tendency to start forms of Constitutional Monarchy or Imperial Republic a bit early on ;)

Here is something new for all of you NESer's out there. If you could sum up NESing into the lyrics from a part of one song. What would they be? Mine are as follows.

"Cause You gotta be bigger, be faster, be stronger
If your gonna survive any longer
In this lifetime, it better be the right time
The first time might be your last time
Am I a failure if I got nothing to lose
No, I'm not a failure, I got something to prove"

"Makin' plans to rule the world
Oh - Woa - Oh
Spread yourself way too thin.
You're wishing that you were king
it's killing you.
Denying that you're just a man
Oh - Woa - Oh
Makes you tire out.
You're always runnin.'"

I like my government to be a Military dictatorship, preferably controlled by my UU. Or just a centralised monarchy backed up by a religion

I don't really care, I just take what I get (I've only "created" a government once, and it mirrored the actual government thought to have been in place).

I use a wide range of governements, its great to mix it up, just so it doesnt go too bland for you.

Communism is defintley my favourite though, you cannot argue with the scientific and historical dialectic of the Marxist school of thought and the fact that history IS on their side...

Actually, you can. You can argue about many things; arguing against Marxism is one of the easier ones.

ah, so you deny the historical implications of the progressive forces of this world and the benevolance of the dictatorship of the proletariat?

Of course ;) I point out the lovely rule of Stalin and the even GREATER rule of the oh so great Mao Tse-Tung :p

Indeed the Great Stalin and Mao accomplished great things for both their nations and serve as beacons of truth in this dark world who has turned its back on the light of true communism.

In my NESing days of yore, I used to prefer Egyptian-style theocracies.

Now I'll do all sorts of things. I tend to avoid monarchies because everyone else does them. But I've ranged in LINESII alone from a crazed theocracy to an aristocracy in the original sense of rule by the best.

And then there's FarowNES. I've spent a lot of time developing that particular government...

Mao destroyed countless priceless artifacts which constituted the cultural legacy of the most ancient nation in the world. The Chinese Nation defies all of Marxists Thought, a Political Theory based upon Europe and biased towards European society. As shown by how the Chinese communists leaders themselves did things much differently then say the Soviets or Marx

;)

Jal, my monarchies are SPECIAL! :D
