Who are you/would you vote for and why?

According to that "who do you side with" I'd have to vote Jill Stein.

If given the choice between them 2, Obama. Not because of anything policy related, nothing in America would get my vote if I had to judge based on that, but because he has been a decent president, he's the more likeable guy, and I feel sorry for him because he has to work with morons and I want to express my feelings of sorrow by having him work with the same morons for 4 more years.

The Republican Party has become a parody of a parody of a party. Since I assumed that the voting for would mean I'd vote who'd be my president. If it's just America's president I think I'm going to have a lot of fun the next 4 years watching the sentiments here do a 180 if Romney wins. It'll be fun to dig up previous posts from people and contrast them with the new ones. And then watch them explain to me how that's different and isn't hypocritical at all. On the other hand, watching Pubbies whine and moan about Obama is funny too.

God I'm glad I'm envious of living in America, because it means I don't.

I'd like to visit there which I probably will but I have no ambitions to actually live there. My great uncle who moved to suburban Oakland, CA with his family in the late 40s and obviously liked it there but he also had a suggestion for improvement in the 80s. "Line up all the lawyers in front of a machine gun, start shooting and while changing magazine one is excused." It's obvious that there are some minor legal obstacles to implement this in practice but it's an interesting thought.
I assume he would approve with Stephen Fry's joke 'what's common with sperm & lawyers ? One in 50 million has a chance to become a human being. It may not be Fry's own invention but I heard it from him.

Don't get me wrong, I think America is a great country with excellent people. I don't know if you ever saw Stephen Fry in America, but it's a great showcase how diverse and wonderful the people and the country can be.

It just turns all pearshaped when either politics, religion or law is concerned.

Yup, generalizing is often used for practical reasons but it doesn't necessarily say anything about an individual.

I've seen some episodes of Stephen Fry in America but not all. I think our local equivalent of BBC, YLE, aired it not so long ago. The joke is from QI which due to copy right issues is very rarely shown anywhere outside the UK - the internet has it's perks.

Well I get BBC here, and the new XL is in half an hour.

QI migth be the best show that's on nowadays I must have rewatched every episode 3 or 4 times on youtube.

I agree that QI is probably as good as a quiz show can be and by far superior to most tv series though in general I dislike contemporary tv nor do I watch it much so the bar isn't that high.
At the same time I can't stop wondering how would the show be if the presenter were the 2nd funniest Palin as originally planned. Fry is brilliant in his role and the XL will be on PB in 90 minutes, lucky me.

Stephen Fry is awsome. I aspire to be 1/10th as awsome as he is.

Someone would have to point a gun at me to get me to vote for either of the "Big two." If I could vote, I'd vote for Gary Johnson. If I was forced to vote for one of the big two, I'd vote for Obama not because of a single thing he's done, but because the Republican Party needs to be punished for how it treated Ron Paul.

But as for who I actually want to win, its tough to decide at this point. Romney's got the economy hands down (IMO) but the fact that I don't want another war takes precedence (War leads to a reduction of our civil liberties, every time) and its tough to predict whether or not Romney will start another war.

I was mad at that show for not showing enough about how awesome Ohio is. Like, he pretty much just drove through and talked a bit about that one type some college students were murdered here. I swear, there's a lot more to us.

Eh, for Minnesota all he really said was that it was cold and we have lots of Hmong immigrants.

Still better than Miami.

I'm in my 30's, but I will be voting for Gary Johnson. Assuming my voter registration is still active. I meant to check on it, but it's past the deadline now. I think it still is.

I'm not libertarian mind you. And I think it's silly to try to run a government like it's the year 1800, but he's the lesser of 3 (actually I think 4 are running) evils.

Obama lost my vote with the Libya thing this past month. Especially blaming it on a youtube movie and having the guy investigated and arrested (something you expect in Stalin Soviet Union, not the U.S.). Yes I know he technically was violating parole, but if it had been an anti Christian movie he would still be free right now. Obama is a Muslim sympathizer. He loses my vote because of it.

Romney is dishonest and doesn't pay taxes. How could anyone vote for this sleazy guy?

No problem with that as long as you are fair and equal about it.

Being sympathetic to peaceful muslims is good, while doing so to appease extremists is bad.

Obama has done vastly more to kill extremist Muslims in 4 years than Bush did in 8. So he's hardly appeasing them.

I can see that Youtube fiasco as an weak attempt at curbing liberty, but really the guy making the video strikes me as a desperate opportunist. The whole situation was unfortunate, except for Youtube championing liberty (Google/Youtube +1 each). I wouldn't blame Obama for it, nor for the embassy fiasco. Both events are symptoms of the greater global environment which is partly resisting a common dialogue. It's one more casualty of the War on Terror, and the human condition in general. I'd say we're still cleaning up after the Cold War, really---something else we didn't really ask for.

My own vote is non-partisan, undecided, and for the lesser of the two evils when it comes to the economy, freedom, and national security. I'll probably make up my mind by November 3rd.

I'm a Christian, but I like to think of myself as being sympathetic to Muslims, if nothing else.

Anyone who thinks that burning a Qu'ran (Or a Bible in case anyone decides to accuse me of favoring my own faith) is justifiable cause for arrest, is seriously messed up.

Or heck, a flag for that matter.

I'm sympathetic to Muslims who AREN'T terrorists, which is most of them obviously.

He's really not, in fact, he's practically copying Bush's foreign policy, while still accusing Bush of starting "Two wars on a credit card."

If Obama had really pulled out of the wars right away I'd be rooting for him right now however messed up I think he is on fiscal issues.

Gary Johnson isn't nearly going back to 1800. Ron Paul in some ways, but not Johnson.

Johnson is fairly moderate as far as Libertarians go. But he is actually a Libertarian. Making him an order of magnitude better than Obama or Romney.

Except competently.
