And I thought I loved you.

To compensate Bill's trauma from reading Godwin's posts, I propose dividing Britain between USA, Germany and France, with the Channel Islands going to Argentina .

As far as I can make out, the Argentine argument is 'the Falklands are near to us, and we owned them once in our history. The people there hate our guts, but we have a right because of this to rule them irrespective of their wishes'.

Sounds a lot like the British claim to Normandy to me

Since we're on the subject of reclaiming old territories and imperialism in general, I have the following demands from the USA to the international community:

A. The reacquisition of Cuba
B. The absorption of Hispaniola
C. The annexation of (northern) Mexico
D. The seizure of the Panama Canal
E. The reconquest of the Philippines
F. The absorption of Liberia and all former lands of said country.
G. The annexation/subjugation of the rest of the Caribbean, so as to turn it into an American lake.
H. The establishment of puppet regimes throughout the world, in particular Latin America.
I. The seizure of Israel, Mesopotamia, and lands deemed strategically useful in the Persian Gulf.
J. Joint rule over the Suez Canal.
K. Occupation of all the Pacific Islands, to transform it into the American Ocean.
L. Pushing Japan, South Korea and Taiwan into more receptive positions, if not outright being annexed.
M. The unification of the United States, the United Kingdom, South Africa, Australia, and New Zealand into a solid federation.

Britain can work on rebuilding their empire(with the Falklands being but one step), as we build one of our own! We are willing to assist British expansion efforts for no charge at all... :deal:

...I'd make a good fascist, aye?

As always, nobody wants to rule Russia.

Have you ever tried partitioning Russia Poland-style? It's INSANELY difficult. And you know that's saying something, considering my partitions are generally pretty unrealistic.

Aye aye cap'n!!!
I'll give you anything if you dig a half-mile-wide moat along the old line of Hadrian's Wall and flood it with seawater.
:joke:

You know my vulnerabilities

At least you could've taken Siberia, Your Excellency. A direct transarctic flight from Toronto to my home city... dreams, dreams.

"Your Excellency"?   Wish more people would call me that!

Well taking Siberia would definitely solve America's resource issues... all we need to do is disable those pesky nukes! We could use one of the Xorda weapons that cause machines to fall apart mid-flight should it enter the weapon's radius... (Hey, about as realistic as everything else I posted, right? )

Anyway, off-topic. Not much for me to really say in this thread anymore, besides hoping for things to heat up. Foreign affairs are far too boring as of late.

C. Kirchner has asked for the US to mediate or something and G. Brown has said that there's no need for that.

...Mmm yes. I like where this is going! TR was able to negotiate an end to the Russo-Japanese War... doesn't seem Obama'll be able to diffuse a second Falklands War.

..Though really. What makes the Argentines assume this'll go any different if war was to break out? That they will have Venezuela was an ally?

Oh god, mighty Venezuela's gonna stomp the Brits!

...Would be a pretty good test of just how crazy Chavez is though, if a war did break out. Would he REALLY go all Hitler-esque and actually force his country into a war he can't even win?

I wonder if Spain and Columbia would get involved against Chavez.

Colombia, I'm sure, given that Chavez plays with fire in regards to them, from everything I know.

I dunno about Spain... I know Juan Carlos and Chavez got into a verbal battle, but I doubt that's enough to make the Spanish turn into reconquistadores. ;)

And Northern Ireland.

Not so, sir.

According to a 2007 opinion poll, 66% express long term preference of the maintenance of Northern Ireland's membership of the United Kingdom (either directly ruled or with devolved government), while 23% express a preference for membership of a united Ireland.

Curious, but how have Labour's numbers fared since this started?

No. You can't demand a reconquest, you actually have to go out and reconquer it
