Why do you *not* accept evolution?

Why would it be necessary for them to evolve that way?

Because such creatures are described in several Holy books . And we conclude that they actually existed or exist and so if we don't find evidence that they exist then evolution is wrong. WRONG.

Can it be proven that God did not, as a test of faith when creating the Earth 6K years ago, place fossils, cleverly place layers of sediment, create creatures with similiar DNA, and so forth? There is and will never be any way to prove that all of this "evidence" is nothing more than God setting up the world to look as though everything came about naturally.

That actually contradicts Christian Theology because it implies a deceitful God.

I believe in evolution, but theistic evolution.

Bah, neglect my last post, what is the basis for believing there was or is a God in the first place?

Anyway in the hope of not encouraging other people into sarcasm area , because i am also interested in the evolution denial mindset , i admit it was a play or along. Now the funny part is that Giant Squids , Giant Octupussess and Giant Lizards actually exist today in the world.

Just like the good old Flying Spaghetti Monster, using his noodly appendages to affect evidence that scientists discover.

Meaning no offense, but I don't want this to degrade into an evolution versus creationism thread, there are already plenty of threads for that.

But surely the only reason you'd believe evolution didn't happen is due to your religious teachings. The science is sound. There's noone will be able to give you a proven scientific fact that proves it didn't happen if thats what your asking for.

Just for the record, I myself have no issue with evolution whatsoever. In fact, I think it is just keen. However, I do actually know someone who subscribes to what I typed above, someone near and dear to me.

What? Then why did you make such a thread?

The simple curiosity as to what reasons people have to not accept it or deny it.

Until I can open a jar of peanut butter and have life spontaneously appear evolution isn't real.

You should know in the back of your mind that this would become a magnet for creationist vs. evolution debates :p.

The inferred answer then would be that because they didn't give credit to evolution, they would believe in some form of creationism or intelligent design... What'd you expect?

'Not accepting' and 'denying' are very different positions to take.

Well, I would probably troll you right here but, I'm dangerously close to getting banned currently.

Spontanious generation was also proven false by the way.

On a serious note, I reject macroevolution because of the Bible! Of course species change over time, nobody's denying that.

Fill that jar with Water, Hydrogen, Methane and Ammonia, along with a couple of sparking electrodes, and it's quite possible you'll get some amino acids, along with sugars, and some other solid organic compounds. If that's not impressive, I don't know what is.
