Why is Marijuana Illegal?

You know, although I'm sure you probably agree at least somewhat with the sentiments in that film
Not really. It's smelly in a way that cigarettes will never approach and I never understood my older brief brother's fascination of it when he was a college freshman (what is so fun about staring at static on tv???), but I really don't care about it. Legalize it if the country wants, no big deal to me, but it is illegal now so that law should be obeyed. I -really- am not in any way passionate about whether it should be legalized or kept illegal.

, it pretty much is the reason that MJ is illegal today.:goodjob:
Precisely. :)

Your brother smoked crappy weed. The good stuff smells like flowers and fruit, even the smoke.

Staring at static on tv? Please.

HE was a college, not me. I never smelled what he smoked. It is just that the only time I have ever smelled it, it was always hideously overpowering and disgusting. I've never smelled it and had it remind me of pleasant flowery incense.

Staring at static on tv? Please.
 I can only tell you what he told me. If you doubt his story, I cannot do anything about that.

"We were so stoned man, we were staring at static on tv. We were that stoned!"

Bull! :)

Okay, well at least I understand where the sentiment comes from now. But I have to say that I'll probably always take my brother's word over that of an internet conversation. No offense, mind you. I personally really don't have the experience to say whether staring at static is a normal reaction or not.

you would have to be cataclysimically smoked to do that. I'm tlkaing two days in a row of smoking snunk or somehting.

Allrighty then. To each his or her (:p) own. Who knows, people might find that sort of stuff aestetically pleasing. Trust me when I say it's not a normal reaction to being stoned to be intrigued by static. I also heard people saying they sat looking at the walls move. Never happened to me or anyone I know. Never saw colours, never halucinated, never had animals talking to me, none of those.

maybe I've been doing it wrong for 20 years ;)

There have been times I have been engaged in such a spirited political discussion while of my rocker that we didn't notice the TV switched to the testimage (not sure what this is in english). But that's pretty much it

So, in conclusion, I don't know either what's fun about staring at static. :crazyeye:

I got high while watching the static on my telly. It's called Fox News and Cnn.

That one sentence I've bolded is the most sensible thing you've said, as it's the first time you've simply stated your opinion, without spinning a bunch of meaningless and illogical bs along with it. But just because you don't want it legalised, is not a good enough reason for it not to be.
That one sentence didn't include any reasons why. It described how I feel, not why I feel it. The "why" is my other posts in this thread.

Ganja should stay illegal because it causes normally harmless people to become dangerous to others. Because it causes lung cancer that I end up paying for out of my taxes. Yes, I've seen a few studies that don't correlate ganja with any of these things, but the majority of studies I've seen DO show correlation.

There. THAT was the "why".

Pretending to be friendly to disarm me doesn't work BC. I could care less if you or anybody else on this board likes me.
Same here. I don't give a crap about you either. I wrote that "gay" joke because I found it funny and because other people did. I don't much care which specific people get a laugh out of it.

Good to see you've come up with a new argument this post... Oh wait, you haven't.

Nope. Everything I wrote in here is stuff I've written before.

Err, wait--actually I did pick up something new. While surfing in search of links between ganja and car accidents, I discovered that amphetamines (i.e. stimulants) cause car accidents as well. Was kinda surprised by that.

well gee, driving a car causes traffic accidents.

you know what wont show up in the stats? The lives saved by amphetamines... Seriously, have you ever used speed? I swear, if they gave drunks leaving bars some speed before they hit the road, they'd be much more likely to make it home without hitting anything else. Speed has an amazing ability to sober up drunks fast...

In certain military operations, soldiers are given speed because it alows them to think faster, speeds up reaction times, etc.. Heroin, cocaine and many "hard" drugs also have many beneficial uses. The problem is that the cons seem to outweigh the pros in regards to them.
