It aggresses against the property right of another person to his life. I don't like generalizing it to the nitty-gritty like that (Obviously stealing life is worse than stealing property) but that's really what it comes down to.

Ok, it's a rhetoric question, of course they did. Copyright is entirely unnecessary for creation.

Picasso reportedly exclaimed, after seeing the 17000 year-old paintings at Lascaux "we have learned nothing!". Artists - dumans! - always created due to what is the human drive to create, not because someone throws money at them. Throwing money at them just changes which creations are done. And most of what is done is anyway indeed done again and again throughout history with slight variations. Who "owns" that "intellectual property"? For example, Disney taking all those free fairy tales and making copyrighted versions of them.

Don't get me wrong, I'm skeptical of the misleading concept of "intellectual property" (which isn't property regardless of what you think about property rights over scarce goods), but I wouldn't want to return to the largely patronage based mode of production of art that prevailed before its commercialization. Today people are accustomed to having access to a wide repertoire of art from all genres, and wouldn't want to see that changed (and I think it would without any form of copyright).

You're right that artists would create art anyway, but under the caveat that it still needs to be economically viable for them to do so.

No, I'm not. I'm arguing that you can't produce copies of certain things for profit for a certain amount of time.

Who is creating copies of things for profit? The copyright holders, who are often not the actual creators of art. If you think the current copyright laws protect creators, you're on the wrong track.

On the other hand, when you pirate a movie, you don't do it for profit.

God told them not to do it because evil is simply not possible until a certain threshold of intelligence and self awareness is achieved.

By taking that first bite Eve brought evil into the world by becoming a thinking self-aware human being. This is demonstrated by the sudden laughing at the nakedness of Adam.


I guess it could be argued that the tree of knowledge was left there on purpose because without the possibilty of choice, there is no free will and God's creations would have been more like The Sims than something independent.

Or maybe I missed the meaning and simply disobeying God was the sin rather than bringing evil into the world?

Define. Saving the world is a thing many, many ideas take themselves in certain ways.

...and then one jumps in without thought nor tactic, resulting in damages. True "pure logic" may not be the most effective but one needs to have reason to messure the siturations. As for emotion they are healthy is combined with reason. Neither is healthy without the other.

Because liberals are figures who get all their ideas from TV and focus on "saving the world" instead of being one of many followers of one of many ideas in trying to shape the world.
