Lets not get too off topic. We have plenty of threads to debate the merits of certain health care proposals for the US.

Okay, fine. She's standing in the way of me being your veep. Time for a Swift Boating in Iowa.

As a side note, I'd wholeheartedly vote for a Downtown/Yankee ticket. ;) As long as I secure a Cabinet position.

It's better than most of the candidates out there...

That, plus its research division will keep it isolated from many of the effects of having to serve lower-class Joe Blow.

Research will take a nose-dive if healthcare is socialized. Who is going to fund very advanced, expensive research when one cannot make a profit with the results? Noone. Or maybe the government. Have we figured in the cost of that?

She wants to take away the tax break (from those rich democrats she was talking to). The goal? More government revenue.

Too bad the government needs more revenue, due to the skyrocketed debt. I guess y'all could just dilute the currency more. I don't mind anymore, since I've (mostly) divested of my USD investments.

As far as I am concerned, the government does not need more revenue. It needs less government, thus lower overhead.

Actually, it's the US constitution doing that to him. So make a thread complaining about that.

There's always 2020....

Someone will have to defeat Jeb Bush or Chelsea Clinton.

Good for tourism but bad for all the importing we do (though China is pegging the yuan to us, raking in the change).

Just brought something to mind.

Doesn't your funding have a federal component? And how does you militaristic policies jibe with lower revenue?

Anyway, I'm happy when my government gets more money, because then it can do more stuff.
I'm most happy when the government is getting more money because it's engaging in policies to increase MY money, though. If a government program results in me getting more money than if I'd never been taxed in the first place, I'm not going to complain. And I'm willing to think long-term

Does one have to hate Hillary Clinton to in order to realize that she is unfit to be President of the United States?

I do not hate Senator Clinton. I just do not intend to vote for her next November.

I've read reasons on message boards that goes something like we're in such a mess (not talking about Iraq but generally in the US with regard to health and education etc...) that only a woman can possibly solve these issues. I actually agree. I think what America needs right now is a woman's touch and a woman's perspective on running things. And see if a she can do better.

I think that'd run up against "fine, let's have a woman president, but must it be this particular woman?"

No doubt some out there would cast her off due to her gender, but I do think most of the opposition is to her and her positions/actions. Too bad there isn't another female at the top of the heap, however.

Maybe if the demand for a female president grows enough, Mitt Romney will get a sex change.

Wait, what?
It'd be even one less thing he has in common with Ted Kennedy. Mittrina Romney '08!
