YOU'RE FIRED!

“People that are taking a knee are not saying anything negative about the military, they’re not saying anything negative about the flag, they’re just trying to protest that there are some injustices in America,” Villanueva said.
I am not sure that to fight percieved unjustice with a dishonour to flag and an athem which are the symbols of justice and unity is a smart way to go tbh.

To the victims of the injustices the flag and anthem most certainly do not represent justice or unity. That's the whole problem.

And yet ... their very teammate understands the underlying issue.

Though you left your bias hanging out with your 'perceived', fyi. All they're asking for when they kneel is your help, you know. So, help.

I am happy to help: How about instead of demonstrative acting which brakes the code of conduct in regard to respecting national symbols you demonstratively put on some tape/bracelet which symbolises your effort in bettering the society?
I write 'percieved' becouse my source seems to point in that direction:

How about we just agree to remove the NFL's anti trust exemption, take away their tax breaks so both the teams and the league have to pay taxes like everyone else, then demand the league and teams pay back all public subsidies with interest while being legally barred from ever again receiving any public subsidies... Then call it a day?

That sounds to me like BS. Being a potus doesnt mean you are just a piece in bureaucratic machinery without right for your opinion even though I understand thats were you like to have the present president.

And in speaking his opinion on this issue, Trump has made it crystal clear that:

1) He is against freedom of speech;
2) He believes that people with money (employers) ought to have the power to police political and moral opinions of their employees.

Trump is getting demented, he used to be smarter that letting his wealthy bastard prejudices show so clearly.

Donald J. Trump

@realDonaldTrump

President should not be telling the Washington Redskins to change their name-our country has far bigger problems! FOCUS on them, not nonsense

I think the whole issue is stupid but Trump is just following normal right wing talk radio theater on this topic. Conservatives usually are the majority of people who watch grown men running around playing children's games (so conservative are aware of this situation) and conservatives normally like to see themselves as the defenders of patriotism so this framing would seem right up their alley. Heck, it even fits in with their perpetual outrage machine new cycle pkus it helps to bump the latest revolations about Trump's collusion with Russia off the front page. So for Trump thos is win and more win as far as he is concerned.

I do wish the average American was more intelligent and better informed so none of the above was true. :(

1)So if I am going to piss on the flag thats just my right to free speech or is it as well an act which can be followed by consequences?
2)They surely ought to have right to tell them take their political activism out of the sport business as it surely going to hurt their interest.

If an NFL team decided to fire players, there would likely be legal recourse involving the US Department of Labor which falls under Trump's purview. When Trump states his opinion he is not being clear if that's just his BS opinion or if that's official executive branch policy regarding a potential legal situation in which they will be constitutionally obligated to weigh in on. Leaving it ambiguous is unacceptable.

When you're the President, you should watch your damn mouth.
You're reaching pretty hard here m8.

Pretty sure these are some of the richest black people in the whole world, far richer than I am.

Also pretty sure you're gonna be hard-pressed to find a country where black people are better off than the United States. A little perspective never hurt anybody.

Also I don't buy this "people shouldn't see it as a sign of disrespect" thing. That's exactly how they intended it and you know it.

Sounds equivalent....
Not really. One group was defending our heritage, the other attacking.

That is not a president's call in any democracy.

Calling on "business leaders" to enforce moral or political prescriptions is fascist politics when done this way. There are processes and laws to regulate businesses, otherwise it's not up to politicians to give orders, as Trump seemed intent on doing.

I believe that this time he screwed up and it'll cost him.

It looks like someone wants to make the flag the 4th Lady:

I think it largely dependent on the presidents personality and that healthy democracy can acommodate that kind of activism from a president.

I am getting lost here. Name all of them and which number is the USA itself?

Like this personality:

Not fascism - just tough patriotism as a reaction on the desintegration of society by previous policies. Makes some sense...

I would take this seriously if I didn't see the same people whining about this cheering on the fact that people lost their jobs for attending the Charlottesville rally.

Also I'm not sure what "risk" there is. As far as I'm aware Trump doesn't have any control over the NFL.
You're a libertarian aren't you? How does somebody from that ideology draw an equivalence between a private entity deciding on their own to fire someone shouting "Jews will not replace us!" and an elected official telling a private entity to fire people for not showing lockstep nationalism? A libertarian can't see the false equivalence there? You know where people were/are punished for lack of nationalism? North Korea, Nazi Germany, the USSR. Being able to protest your own country is exactly what makes the US better than that, its what makes it great.
