Zack Mafia IV: Birthday Bash [GAME THREAD]

Topsecret voted for classical. But other than that I think your tally is correct.

Idea!
Perhaps the unexplained votes on me are an effort to save Visor? Unvote: Vote:Visorslash

You're voting the right vote, but for what reasons?

spaceman98: 5 (Buddhafish, johnhughthom, Kennigit, classical_hero, Mergle)
Visorslash: 4 (MartinLuther, Takhisis, Dumanios, spaceman98)
Dumanios: 2 (CivCube, spaceman98)
classical_hero: 2 (NinjaCow64, topsecret)
mechaerik: 1 (Xenoneb)
NinjaCow64: 1 (Verarde)

Abstain: 1 (Zack)

1: Visorslash is indeed suspicous, his posts have been bandwagon style votes and assertations of activity.
2: Dumanios is not going to get lynched this turn, though he has deserved it for a long time.
3: Many here seem to be working hard to draw attention off of Visor and have been for some time.

JHT, who voted for me "because I am still alive and a useful lynch meat shield for scum", when it was clear that Visor was at risk. It is fully possible that this is a town votes, but the alternative is not unlikely.

Finally, some more on why Visor is scummy. Days 1-6, when he was under no pressure, his votes were random and he posted little of substance.

Now that he is under pressure: His posts
I didn't actually vote last phase. I thought I did, apologies Zack.

Dreadnought, 'Lynch Lurkers & Liabilities', when you selfvoted, you automatically promoted yourself to top lynch position. By selfvoting, you promote the aura (whether feigned or real) that you don't care if you die. Now, you can take that as a ploy by mafia to seem like they couldn't possibly be mafia, or they could be setting up a bus on themselves, or what have you. However, as a townie, it is 99% useless. (I say 99% useless as I have used it to good effect once, but I also had a lynch stop power), it will most likely not help you catch mafia, and people will vote for you, normally sealing the deal for your lynch in most situations, and they will get away with the bandwagon vote, because it is a safe, but reasonable vote in most instances.

So saying that you were lynched for illogical reasons, is certainly not true. Leaving someone alive who selfvoted is always a risk, and generally one it is not wise to take.

Now Takhisis. I'm going to ignore the bandwagoner comment, as it has the persuasiveness of a gold ball. 'Self description': I was accused of lurking, when I was saying that was not the case. And self vote is above, but it is generally not a good town move.
Good summary of the obvious reasons Dreadnought needed to die, most of which were written all over the thread and... That's all. Visor is not the only scummy lurker around. Some have posted less (classical_hero), some seemed more scummy (Dumanios) but the fact remains, his votes are unexplained and his one substantial post: Captain Obvious. Before he was pressured he either bandwagoned or voted with no explanation (On day 3, for himself, though now he is (correctly) saying that self-voting is bad), while keeping a fascade of activity with posts like this:
:hmm: You don't play mafia by OMGUSing everyone.
.
Activity? Yes. Insight? No.

here is a crazy thought.

What if we don´t kill anybody today and all follow Zack and abstain

I would avoid lynching infected or resurrected players.

Vote: Visorslash

This is a very interesting post. I see two things in it:

1. A huge case of PIS. What do you know that we don't?

2. The vote on Visor.

This seems like an attempt to save spaceman, but a poor one at that. What do you know about infected and resurrected players that the rest of us don't? And why do we just need to avoid lynching them? Is there some unknown thing that's different for them of their killed instead of lynched?

So many questions about this. FoS: The Black Knigh

I just assumed that the infected have been targeted by an anti-town role and that the resurrected have been brought back by a pro-town role. Mat93, that was both infected and resurrected, was town.

What is PIS by the way?

Wait, wasn't he a Vanilla Innocent? I'm not so sure if they're town...

:wallbash:

PIS- Perfect Information Syndrome

Generally seen as scum letting slip something that they shouldn't have.

And that's somewhat of an ok explanation I guess. But all of the people who died that had the question marks immediately, while some just died. Seems more of a personal ability than that of a third party, unless it's a day action. But that wouldn't explain the people that were nightkilled (DaveShack IIRC) and how they resurrected. So I'm thinking personal ability, which doesn't really rule out anything.

The lynch is the town's best chance of catching a scum, otherwise we allow them to run the game instead. The fact that you are trying to stop a lynch looks rather scummy to me.

Well, I thought it is necessary to think outside the box with Zack Mafia.

If this is not thinking outside the box, I don't know what is.

This is Zack Mafia.

I completely agree. Having a role which killed someone then resurrected them would be completely useless and pointless. And everyone who has risen from the dead has had question marks. This seems to indicate that they have the question marks to make sure that we don't learn what alignment they have. However, this seems to contradict my theory that Vanilla Innocents aren't townies and that there is something fishy with the lynch results. But I can't think of any other reasons the question marks would be there. I have no idea how the spores fit into this however.

End of Day 7

"A tie! You indecisive buffoons! For your insolence, neither individual will be lynched. That'll teach you!"

The disgruntled party guests were unhappy with this development.

"Furthermore, I do not permit party guests to leech off of me without participating in the festivities. My resources are not what they once were."

Zack grabbed DaveShack and atheotes, and dragged them into a backroom where no one could see what happened. A few seconds later, Zack walked back out, the bodies of DaveShack and atheotes clearly lifeless.

Spoiler :
atheotes was the Magician!

Spoiler :
He was loyal to the Town!

Spoiler :
DaveShack was a Vanilla Townie!
