Obama pwns Clinton, McBush on "bitter":

So, Obama will embrace what he said and turn it against McBush and Clinton by showing that they are of touch because they are in denial that people are upset over hard economic times.

"John McCain: a millionaire who's for tax cuts for millionaires. McSame as Bush."

I hope you're aware, Sims, that McCain voted against the Bush tax cuts.

As JerichoHill already pointed out (and everyone else on the thread has ignored, predictably) is that Obama's full statement makes perfect sense and is in no way "elitist." His point was that lots of people in America are frustrated about economic insecurity and so are motivated to vote on other issues because politicians aren't talking to them about economic insecurity.

It's more of the stupid sound byte reporting that everyone complains about unless the object of the reporting is from the other party -- "100 years", anyone?

What baffles me is that Clinton and McCain, with dozens of millions of dollars in assets, can say that Obama is an elitist and keep a straight face.

This is a perfect opportunity for Obama to stand by his statements and make Hillary, McBush, and possibly the media (if it helps him illustrate his point) out to be elitists.

Keep moving those goalposts bud.

Yeah, not really.

Major assets: Morgan Chase Asset Management Checking Account, $100,001-$250,000; Vanguard Wellington Fund, $100,001-$250,000. State of Illinois pension, $50,001-$100,000.
Major sources of unearned income: Vanguard Wellington Fund, $5,001-$15,000.
Major liabilities: None.
Narrative: Besides Obama's $165,200 Senate salary, he received royalties for one book and an advance for a second totaling $572,490. His memoir, "Dreams of My Father," published in 1995 and later reissued, earned $147,490. He received a $425,000 advance against royalties for his latest book, "The Audacity of Hope," published in October.
Obama is committed to publisher Random House to write one more book of nonfiction and a children's book.
His wife, Michelle, is a hospital administrator at University of Chicago Hospitals. She also has assets in her name with Vanguard Wellington Fund and Vanguard Wellesley Income Fund. In their 2006 tax return, made public this year, the couple reported $991,296 in total income.

Obama is barely above $1 million. He's not in the same league, by far, than McCain and Clinton.

Just putting them back up after the lamestream media knock them over.

I thought blaming the OMG MSM was the right-wings job, nice to know both sides of the spectrum are represented. My guy is already long gone from the dem race so now I am just sitting back watching the fireworks.

Well, the media really isn't biased, just shallow, so their moronic "reporting" cuts both ways.

Please consider the bold part. Thats reportable income...IN ONE YEAR. True, it may not be in the League of McCain and/or Clinton, but still his net worth and expected earnings put him in the 'millions' club...more than enough to be 'elitist' in his own right.

You would think Obama would be trying to fit in with the rich crowd, since most of his supporters don't really care about working and small town Americans.

Yep. He has got to where he is today in the race exclusively by non-working big city elites donating to him and voting for him.
