Surely there's some irony in the fact that the OP in a thread about other people being dumb contains the phrase "connotative dissidence"...

I just assumed it was a joke. I did spend a few seconds wondering what connotative dissidence could be, though. Sounds like an '80s punk-rock or hip-hop group. The other night I was watching a cop show and the generic thug reminded the detective that he'd come to the police station "of his own violation."
