1700AD Scenario

so how do you play this map? is it ready?

No, I'm waiting for Leoreth to return to finish it (otherwise there's no one to incorporate it in the mod)

What exactly do you need?

What exactly do you need?

I've got some time now, so I'll finish the scenario itself (by adding the techs and whatnot).
Adding it to the mod would make testing possible, I guess, so then I could further tweak the map for balance. But there are some things which will have to be fixed first:
-Egypt and Babylon still spawn, China gets a warrior and a settler
-TC cities/conquerors still spawn
-All civilizations are 'playable' in the starting screen where you have to choose your civ.
It'd be great if you'd fix those three.

Are you going to add it before or after the decolonization civs? Because those'll have to be added to the scenario too.

EDIT: It'd also be great if you'd remove the unexisting civilizations (like Egypt) from the screen where you can choose your civilization and fix Egypt and Babylon from spawning.

I support the map being added once stability, technology, and diplomacy are set into historical consideration.

Techs and Roman roads (They're useless since everyone has engineering, but the graphic is just so awesome and it's historical on top of that ;)) added.
EDIT: The scenario will have multiple cities on top of each other/cities next to each other because the trading companies are still active.

That doesn't sound like an easy task, unfortunately. The easiest solution would probably be to replace the 600 AD scenario and tweak its Python scripting a bit. Because introducing another scenario would mean adding a lot of extra checks.

Ah, that's a pity to hear. If there's any way I can help, just tell me.

Hard to say at the moment, I'd probably need to give it a try to figure out what is required.

So like everything else, I'm going to have to stall this until I've arrived at a working version of DoC again.

This is mainly due to loading times - America was not in the original RFC due to this reason, Rhye only later added it.
America wasn't in original RFC not because of loading times (every human-controlled civilization started in 4000 BC with Egypt, India and China), but because of a coding mistake.

Sorry, but if I remember correctly the first post said that America wasn't INCLUDED in the first versions.
And in the first version Egypt, India, China and the human-controlled civ spawned in 4000 BC.

Which is just not true. So, either way...

Is the current rendition of 1700AD map on SVN?

As nearly everyone will be concentrating on WB'ing the European Empires, I could help with the Middle-East sections of the map; also the rendering the Caucasus, as the rivalries there are never replicated in any game I've played.

Yes it is.
There are however some problems caused by the code of RFC: Babylon, Egypt and China spawn when you load the scenario and will have to be removed, TC conquerors might be an issue too, yadda yadda yadda.
I already placed most cities on the map, but I can't remember what I exactly did with the Caucasus. I thought it was under control of Iran and the Ottomans, and the parts which weren't are probably hard to represent by independents because of the small population (and who wants little useless cities all cluttered over the map ;)).
