I didn't see anything CHRISTIAN (as in the actual Ministry and Message of Salvation of Christ) about the whole conversation, and no devout Christian properly following Christian doctrine is any associated with anything that can be called "fundamentalist wingnuttery." I'm really sick of disgusting, evil crap always being pinned on Christianity as a religion, and always having it said, by BOTH Republicans and many of their political opponents that the GOP represents, even epitomizes a religion of life, love, charity, and forgiveness. If you don't understand the source, please don't speak so cavalierly on it.

Federal subsidization of "money stress/social stress/no medical need/no rape/no incest/30+ week abortion" is, let's be real, "please kill blind/deaf/downs people before we have to deal with them, we don't care if they were viable already, we don't want to deal with institution or medical coverage or adoption." That's the only time it comes up, and that's the only practicable application of stripping those specific qualifications. Everything is else is basically sorted by then. So the function is the intent. Prevaricate all we want, thar's politics to be played, and those cost blood. It's eugenics with a negative liberty argument. So impressed.

I said the MINISTRY AND MESSAGE OF SALVATION OF CHRIST. The Big Churches have become corrupt, apathetic, greedy, and political, and have not maintained the True Message or Purpose they were created for, and no longer represent the mandate given them in Apostolic times.

I am having a very bad feeling about this.
Compare with what Bernie would have been doing now. And Biden was still accused of being an agent of socialism, so the whole narrative of "If Bernie got the nomination, the republicans would just focus on the socialism angle attack" was of course trash.
The republicans literally don't care. It was an obviously ridiculous strategy to think that Biden would lure republican votes. He can easily cost democrat votes, though.
Let's hope that he will win, but every day it seems his chances get worse.
Yeah OK I don't actually care about Patine's individually defined One True Version of christianity, it's entirely reasonable to describe public powerful versions of christianity as being christianity. Especially the damn Catholic Church, the primary driver of this anti abortion stuff pretty much everywhere evangelical protestants aren't a big thing.

It's what's in force in Illinois. There's literally no other reason to strip the restrictions on bans on aborting 30+ week pregnancies without medical necessity, without induction, without rape, without incest, and then subsidizing the procedure relative to not. We tax cigarettes to encourage behavior. We subsidize oil to encourage a behavior. It doesn't take a genius. It just takes an honest person.
You mean you still have laws dictating when and how abortion can be accessed and criminalising access outside of those boundaries? Yuck.

I suppose, subjectively, from your point-of-view, it's perfectly alright, as you seem to be non-religious. Thus, also saying that the Taliban, al-Qaeda, and ISIS were properly observed Islam, and Kahane is a respectable example of a rabbi, and genocidal ethnic purist in Sri Lanka and Myanmar are swell Buddhists, and Scientology is a full and actual religion, and not a power- and money-hungry scam, because they say they're a religion, is a purely acceptable point of view to people like you, right? But not everyone thinks in that way, you know.
Well no, those people are pretty much all bonkers fundamentalists at, most of the time, the outer fringes of their faiths. Much like a lot of anti-abortion zealots tbh.
Even with the Catholic Church, it's very notable how little difference the institutional beliefs of their sclerotic hierarchy actually makes to the laity (for reference I'm from a Catholic cultural background, I did my first confession but my parents aren't really religious and stopped pushing that stuff after it was clear I wasn't interested).
But yeah, a definition of Christianity which rules out the Catholic Church as part of it is not, um, useful.
Hell, even the idea that you get to define your own one true version, independent of institutions and traditions, going back solely to your own reading of a source text... that is itself a massively Protestant affectation. It's one which would not really be recognisible to the majority of the world's Christians.
Nah, I'm just glad here it's been taken out of the criminal code and it's entirely a matter of public health and professional ethics. Anything else is deference to busybody superstition.

Well Trump's hovering around 40%, last time he was 46-47%iirc.
If the never trumpers make up 10% if the GoP and switch to Biden bye bye Trump.
35000 people in 3 states change their minds bye bye Trump.
Biden has a 7 point lead and is leading in 4 states that matter and is competitive in Ohio and Texas.
Trump loses Florida he's done, Bidens leading there last I looked.
Bernie would most likely crash and burn in those places.

On the abortion question, I’d say either we have it or we don’t, and where to draw the line on where we do it when we have it should have more input from medical experts and less input from propagandizers.
