2020 US Election (Part Two)

Why would the CIA assassinate the epitome of establishment figure, a conservative supreme court judge?

I detest Obama as a phony but he would never have Scalia assassinated, not would the CIA do that particular bidding if he asked. Obama's worst in internal politics was cooking Russiagate and perhaps turn a blind eye to investigating an assassination or two done by others.

The US does not have Roman Empire politics. Yet.

The situation is Wisconsin Democrats want the Greens off the ballot and Sommers did answer my question, he's happy about it because the Greens will help Trump.
This bolded is a lie. You're a liar.

For reference...
He was talking about people who vote for him, I didn't and wont. And I occasionally criticize Trump, but not too much. Dog piles create imbalance and we have plenty of that already. Most of the posts here are about Darth Trump and the evil Republicans. Nope, no compulsive whining from your echo chamber.

Are the Democrats unhappy the Greens got kicked off the ballot in Wisconsin?
I am, because its going to screw up the mail-in ballot process, and potentially cause tons of confusion and ballots to be thrown out. If anyone benefits from this its the Republicans, especially Trump, because it not only helps them directly, by increasing the chances that more Democrats ballots get thrown out, but also indirectly, because it increases the opportunities to call the election into question if they don't like the result.
In other news.

Democrats didn't want the Greens on the ballot, no guessing required

Jimmy Dore and Krystal Ball are progressives and also click-seeking internet trolls.

I can't imagine such a slow news day that this makes the cut...

I mean this is a loooooooong way from 'man bites dog.'
More like "Dog eats grass"... but of course Conservatives/Republicans will try their best to turn it into yet another excuse to refuse to accept the result if they lose... which is why I really wish they had just let the Greens on the ballot.

It really had very little to do with the Greens. The GOP just wanted to delay sending the ballots out as much as possible to create as much post office havoc as they could.

I doubt it comes to that. This is looking like a statement election.

That often tends to be the case in elections where the only candidates who are allowed to have a chance of winning are not at all worthy to win.

This is looking like a statement election.
Agreed. I just think the statement is going to be "Get that cretinous, heartless, self-absorbed, self-serving sower of discord out of the White House."

I actually agree with the sentiment. It's too bad the alternative - the ONLY alternative being pushed to replace him wants to just return Establishment high state crimes as usual, and seems to show no REAL interest or inclination in actual reform, betterment, advancement, or giving anything but the few parsimonious crumbs from his table to Progressives that Obama and Clinton gave when they were President.

Not ever in those cases. The opposite, in fact.

And in those cases the "statement" may simply be "disinterest" unfortunately...
Disinterest is also the opposite of a statement.

Given the candidate on one side of the contest, this is an understandable misconception. Biden is not one to inspire anyone and it appears the prospect of four more years does not fill you with dread.

Even this seems rote.

It has escaped your notice how many people view Trump as a hero, because of the way he has stood up to the bully in their stead. Gori says he sows discord. It is so in the sense that defenders always start conflict. Conflict does not begin until someone says, "No more." and makes a stand. That's Trump. Those are the people that will turn out en masse to honor their hero.

It doesn't hurt that his administration has been much better than average.

Disinterest is also the opposite of a statement.

That's incorrect. Disinterest, and even disdain, is a bigger statement than you give it credit for. It shows a sentiment that everyone seriously nominated is garbage and unfit for office, and that the election is probably a botch, scam, blunder, or miscarriage of the political process as a whole. Which the 2020 U.S. Presidential Election is, in fact.

You have a point, since 2018 was a statement election. It was all about control of the House for purposes of impeachment.

Flip it around. How many of those same voters are still energized? How many will show up to vote against Trump if reelection appears certain?

2018 was a statement. 2020 is the reply. How do you think Trump supporters feel about the way their hero has been called garbage and unfit for office, even though he is doing a good job?

Imagine actually believing this, even most of my family recognizes the train wreck for what it is. . .I think only one of them will be voting this time

One does not need to imagine it. An objective appraisal will suffice.

That is not to say an objective appraisal is easy. Many people have difficulty separating the man from the policy and execution. However, any informed, intelligent and fairminded person will conclude that Trump has done a good job.

You say that like it was a bad thing.

:goodjob:

The insanity in these two statements is inspiring!

Hmm, I think I'll check today's 2020 election thread and see ...

CIA?
Assassination?
Establishment?
Supreme Court judge?

I might just need to request an overseas ballot and vote for myself this year. Someone else can vote for me too. I promise I'll be better than at least one of the major two candidates, and possibly both.

Out of curiosity, what state would your vote be counted in? Last state of domestic residence?
