Dude, The Onion said that Donald Trump was the president of the U.S. of A. and even that was not a joke.

She could just... not tweet.

To be completely honest, I don't think violence is the answer, or that wishing someone bad things is nice, buuuuut there are exceptions. Would wishing death unto Hitler or Stalin be morally objectionable? I don't think so. I mean, we literally have death penalty for serial killers and rapists. Do you think wishing death to Ted Bundy is a bad thing? I WISH he could be tortured and murdered a thousand more times. So how is it that a serial murdered gets executed, but we can't say anything mean to the man who is responsible for the deaths of 200k Americans from coronavirus? The man responsible for the death of American soldiers abroad? The man responsible for thousands separated families and dead children at the border?

Give me a ******* break. Trump deserves to burn in all circles of hell for all of eternity together with all the other evil men in human history.

If someones destructive enough they will provoke extreme reactions.

Usually I am blasted as a moderate and I think I was the first to point out the hypocrisy of saying anything other than "the best outcome for the nation and the world is if he dies."

I can believe this is a factual statement and still not personally wish for his death. This is a crucial difference. One is reality and the other is my reaction to that reality. I'm not clutching any pearls about people wishing for it though. Wish away!

Moderator Action: I'm just going to put this out there in case someone forgets the rule. Wishing for Donald Trump (or anyone for that matter) to die in posts carries a penalty of a one week site ban. Do not say it, even in jest. I am not kidding. Be very careful with your language on this topic as I am not known for my nuanced approach to this kind of post.

I mean honestly he deserved most of this before he ran for president. He has been a horrible person for as long as I can remember.

Biden campaign is pulling all negative ads. Whether or not it’s done out of sympathy for the President, I’m not commenting on their motives, but it is certainly good strategy to get some free advertising for the campaign without having to dip into campaign funds.

I worry that if Trump dies, a big chunk of the vote will not turn out for Biden as planned, since many are just voting against Trump. Pence has stayed quiet enough that most people who don't pay attention don't really know or hate him.

Yeah it's hard to keep track. The news just retracted a story about Air Force One being deep cleaned due to COVID. Apparently they do that after every flight with a Trump onboard.

Rumor is they spread stupid like a plague

Pence would not feed the "election was rigged!!!" idiocy that could genuinely destroy the country in a spasm of violence. Dead Trump good, no two ways about it.
You think he would not if he thought he could win if he did?

That has crossed my mind. And how would all those "moderate republicans" the democrats have been courting vote?

But I still think it speculation on a very unlikely scenario.

Is there any rule at all about who gets to be the candidate if one dies after voting has already started, as it did?

Yeap, Phrossack's concern is also mine. Mike Pence is -undeservedly- more palatable to the public than Donald Trump and has managed to let the spraytanned man shoulder (most of) the blame and the dip in personal reputation.

I think Pence might be a decent-ish compromise between a win by Trump and one by Biden.
It is quite impressive how much he sticks to the shadows.
Both team A and team B in this election are terribad. And I don't just mean the vps :P
