8 hour downtime

This forum is too important to have such a crappy server, I agree. Everything but OT should have a mirror running somewhere. If OT goes down, well, nothing of value will be lost.

You know some of the forums actually create stuff right? The whole downloads database, who do you think comes up with it?

I don't mind having an OT, but I think it would only take fifty and perfection a week to fill it up with threads if we ever lost it. (Okay, I lie. A day, tops.)

8 hours? Ouch. I knew it was a while, but I had no idea it was that long.

The downtime was probably related to the database backup. In the past it has occurred before the database backup process caused the DB server to go down due to space issue. I will ask Telefragged for more info on the downtime.

We do database backup Tuesday and Friday morning. Normally the backup takes under 15 minutes.

For the modiki issue, I have just sent an email to Telefragged about it. Thanks for the report.
