A New Dawn Bug Reports and Feedback

I have situation that my archery units had a free promotion poisoned arrows. This promotion make sense for archery unit only.

When I upgrade archer unit to musketer or riflemen this promotion still exists. This is unlogical. I play with beta5 so i dont know if this bug still exists.

If you knew anything about "real" snipers and what they can do nowadays, you'd really be surprised in what a bullet can do, but just think of the arrows as each era goes thru as poisoned musket-balls/bullets etc.:p

Snipers actually have cement penetrating bullets that enter the cement, and make an explosion the size of 6 inches or more on the other side, then the bullet acts as a grenade with lots and lots of scrap metal in it, and kills anything even close (within 4 feet).

Sorry if i was being unclear ;)
So, could anyone get it to work?
I can't get it to work on my patch F :(

Is this crash something avoidable?

Keep getting blocked midgame with some kind of crash

Using AND v1.74e (avoided getting patch f due to eternity scaling issue)

Love this mod, but getting a little tired of the crashes.

I'm running into a crash with 2.92 + 1.74F:

EDIT: went back to 1,74E and the error doesn't appear there. It has to do with being declared war by Zululand and his vassal

It is off by default. You need to go into BUG/A New Dawn tab and enable it there.

Better results will come if you provide a savegame before CTD, and your AND installation log.

You might want to check the adjustment for Eternity gamespeed. Under snail, I'm taking roughly 30 turns to research hunting, but under eternity it was 400. 400 turns to build a farm. This is under 1.74f, eternity worked fine for me under a-d.

Known to Afforess. He will probably fix it for Patch G.

I'll upload the savegame tomorrow.

Upon going back to E I noticed a dramatic change to my income. It rose to 1400 / turn back under E where under F it's a marginal 250 / turn. Was that also intended :)? I noticed this change to a lesser extend after patching E to F and didn't really care (low cash keeps the game challenging).

Maintenance costs had been increased in Better RoM modmod for largest empire :).

Hi, I have a minor issue. When I tick options (I want the espionnage missions and jet fighters missions) they do not save. Someone told me to save the game twice then load it again but it only saves the options I chose for as long as the game goes. When I quit Civilization and come back later on all the options I chose are unticked. Anyone on this?

Also I tried to make meself a shortcut using these followthrough :

Make a copy of your BtS shortcut. Then right click on it and click properties. In the target box you should see something like this: "C:\Program Files\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\Beyond the Sword\Civ4BeyondSword.exe"
At the end put this: mod=\Rise of Mankind
If you use this shortcut the mod will load right away

An alternate method is to declare it in the configuration file. Open the config file in a simple text editor. About halfway down, you should find a line for "Specify a Mod folder." Edit it to look like this:

; Specify a Mod folder (Mods\Mesopotamia), '0' for none
Mod = Mods\Rise of Mankind

Save the config file and voila! you're done.

If you don't know how to find the config file, it's normally located in the My Documents\My Games folder but you can also find installed shorcuts to it in the Program Files Civ folder. Hope that helps.

but neither of them worked (for the second on I just couldn't find the config file for AND). Is it useful only for RoM? How can I make a shortcut for AND?

And it's still too easy, should have cut more :p

I did not want to make it overly hard for humans to win; if it became impossible, the game wouldn't be fun. That said, it will penalize you as your empire becomes larger and larger. If you're close to a domination victory, expect to be paying 4-6x maintenance than the next player...

OK, here is the save before the game crashes. AND installation says:

Installed Components:
{Required Files} {Military Civics} {Better RoM} {Deep-Red Interface} {Blue Marble Terrain} {Civic Diplomacy} {Building Upgrades}

Install Type:
Custom

Version:
1.74

Install Directory:

Windows Version:

With the world editor I found the culprits btw. There are 3 Zulu ships close to Kagoshima. When I remove them nothing goes wrong (even with 1.74F). 1.74E doesn't have a poblem with the Zulu's declaring war on me.

Two things, AND 1.74F

1. boats on boarder patrol get stuck in coastal forts.
2. what happens to this increased maintenance cost thingy when the second empire is your vassel? Luckily the third has defensive pact with me.

Which other bonuses? Isn't every feature on a building automatically displayed on it's hover text? Which features aren't?

I know for fact that bonuses from new trade routes doesn't show. That's why paved roads seldom shows to give any bonus and why telefonica network only shows to you a culture bonus and no commerce bonus even though it provides two new trade routes.

I know it can be hard to program, because you have to know where the new trade routes will Ho before you can know thier effect. But for a glance, you could just calculate with the least profitable route and then subtract 10%. Unless there is an easier way :-)

The strange thing is the Actual hover showed that for the Paved Roads in a earlier version.
