A New Dawn Bug Reports and Feedback

I think there might be a bug in how Wonder capacity is currently being calculated. I have a save attached -- it claims to be from v749, but I think it's from later because all of my current additions are included. I think it's 753. Regardless of version, it definitely has the Wonder capacity scaling by culture level, as my capital only has 2 National Wonders allowed, and should only have 3 World Wonders allowed: 2 for Culture Level Developing and +1 for Sphinx, but it has managed to build 4 (Sphinx, Pyramids, Hanging Gardens, Labyrinth). I'm not sure how this could come about.

I can confirm this bug, I've tried myself with a new game from scratch; I'll investigate :)

My current game (build 746) I am allowed only one World Wonder and two National Wonders. I thought it was something I must have done in set up or in Bug. Also opponent Civs don't put much pressure by building many Wonders of their own.

Forgot to add that the minute I discovered Vassel, 9 of my opponents asked to become my vassel state and several turns subsequent folded into my Civ. I am playing at Noble level.

Nice to be kicking big time butt though.

It's not. Number of wonders is now scaled by city's cultural level. Increase culture in your city and you'll be able to build more wonders.

I believe that Vokarya has brought this up before, and I agree with it and you too.

We also talked about chopping jungle and having to wait till Iron working. I beleive this was changed to bronze from that discussion but I'm not 100% sure it was done.

Agreed on all fronts :)
There's already "burning" both jungles and forests from start. The techs are for when you can get hammers. So are you arguing for hammer generating from forests and jungles from start?
I am not arguing for hammer generating from the start, as you would have to specifically tech stone tools + woodworking. However I am advocating for the ability to chop forests earlier via woodworking as opposed to bronze working. I also support Joseph's suggestion to move jungle chopping to bronze working from iron working.

Also regarding burning, its no substitute for chopping as its incredibly wasteful and in this case, illogical: With the advent of stone tools combined with woodworking there is no reason that the only way people would be able to remove a forest is by burning it - rather they would be able to use their stone tools, combined with woodworking knowledge to chop the wood and use it for productive purposes.

Have you turn off trade routes at all at ver 755?
What a pity...

No. I just made preliminary changes that will make turning them off easier. Trade routes are still very much enabled at the moment.

I am unsure if this is because my civ is much more powerful than hers, but Elizabeth seems to be undervaluing her cities compared to what a handful of techs might give her:

Hope this works...

EDIT: This is on deity too..

2nd edit: Just for fun I actually made the deal. 3 of those cities are kinda meh but considering the land they could become some decent cities while the 4th (or the 1st) is actually one of her important cities making 350ish beakers per turns. That would be the city in Ireland on the earth 18map.

Final edit: cant download the link, basically she gives me four cites for the following techs: thermodynamics, naval tactics and machine tools. She has 7 cities in total (before the trade).

At this save I have trade + wheelwright + great lighthouse.

So, it seems I should have 4 trade routs.
But I have 0.
There is nothing wrong with your save. Just because you can have 4 trade routes, doesn't mean there are 4 cities to trade with. I loaded it and looked, and trade routes are working fine.

Can't tell anything without a save.

I just tried to understand your suggestion. My opinion is the same as 45*. Possibly the same as majority because Bronze Working can simulate the idea that you finally have enough know-how to extract high productivity from the forest as compared to before when you get so little as make no difference, and thus burning up to that point.
Also, there's different gamespeeds to think about. With Epic or faster, you'll get to Bronze Working fairly quickly. I play with Eternity, I sometimes wished I can harvest hammers before Bronze Working but left it alone because I felt it was balanced enough.

But like 45* said, if more people agree with you, Arkatakor, then we will see how it goes from there.

I don't mean to sound persistent but it would be nice to get more feedback as far as my suggestion (which apparently was suggested by someone else prior to me) is concerned. Sofar only Joseph and os79 have commented.

I didn't comment because I don't agree and don't want any change.

We've been outvoted. NO biggy happens most of the time anyway. But we tried. :D
