or it is trying to multiply by the hypotenuse of a circle

will have conquest+domination off, starting with another civ and then killing that civ work? because I want some time alone and then have civs spawn via barbarians

Worth a shot. I would try spawning alone once more (you never know if you just got unlucky) on a different mapscript. If it crashes, try with only one other civ and kill them off in the WB.

On a side note, my head hurts because I read damunzy's post and fell out of my chair
sorry, but my insurance doesn't cover that so don't sue. ;)

I can bring people to the water, but I can't make them drink it.
“It is better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than to open it and remove all doubt.”

I read it twice before posting but sometimes my brain will transpose words - I saw the following:
Don't try it if you've been already patched to v1.55 or are not using AND.
I just chalked it up to bad typed English on your part. :mischief:

Thanks for putting up with me.

Moving to 1.55 without the special patch.

OK tried the NEW dll, having about the same results, after turn 110 random crashes STILL occur, but i have noticed that they have something to do with missionaires and buildings being built, but that is not the direct result of the crash, i have look one turn back at each crash and really nothing is being built that could cause the crash. I have now worked to turn 175 and from 110 on i have had 5 random crashes.

One thing i did notice, is that when you NOW conquer a unit with a General he does NOT stay captured, is that different now with the NEW dll? I get NO Generals at all now when taking over that unit(when it is the last unit, of course).

I'm joining a chorus about failure to uncompress.

And joining the chorus in saying that I didn't touch any of my xml after starting a game. Obviously, I have enough experience to know when a thing is savegame compatible or not.

So here is the bad news :sigh:. Here to a new game :sigh:.

Abraham Lincoln. Except you mangled the quote a bit.

Okay Chorus, want to give me more details on these uncompression errors? They occur randomly?

Care to elaborate on that last point? What do you mean, "No Generals"?

Abraham Lincoln. Except you mangled the quote a bit.

And popularized by Mark Twain. I thought it comes from him actually.

To make things more complicated, I found the information, that it was originally
written in a poem by Percy Bysshe Shelley.

Before when the last unit conquered had a General in it, you'd get that General to your civ. Now if the last unit has a General in it, it is NOT switching to your civ? ie its just like Subdue Animals, once conquered its YOUR animal(s).

I think you may be confusing the Warlord unit with the Warlord (S) unit. I have captured the latter but never the former. Nor have I been able to capture a Great Person of any type.

maybe we could code buildings that give a bonus percent with a resource to get an amount of food based on how many of that resource you had

Like this? ATM it only works for one resource per building.

:agree:

BTW you could always have one expensive building and then you build the rest extremely cheaply so you get the 4 or whatever ones required

EDIT: I just played some AND to transhuman era and I got raped for several reasons,
1) Lack of Sulphur, so no gunpowder units
2) No Iron so I got burned when it came to military units
3) No Coal so I had little production
Next ones are my fault
4) Raging Barbarians
5) Barbarian cities

Got this error with new dll:

Also is there anyway to get rid of this stuff?

Yeah you might be right there, sorry.

Those aren't errors, they are standard logs. It's just saying that you aren't using megapack civs, that's what those missing dependencies are for.

For 1) I have not much sulphur in my games, until I have conquered much, I may have one resource.. The sulphur resource is rare..

2) Though no problems when getting Iron, as I usually mine all my hills, before windmills, there might find iron (happend more than twice in a game).

3) Coal is rare too, but with gunpowder units, you may try to get some through warfare, but as you said you had no gunpowder units.. :D

4) Try a protective leader.. ;) (The saver, as the archers start to spawn ALMOST instantly when you research couple of techs.

5) I find this too hard, 3archers in city, no way to take it and it can spawn next to your city = instant death sentence. (Can you afforess do something about it, or is this normal RoM?)

For Afforess: Is there anyway to increase/reduce the % of resource world will produce ( like if lot's of food, few strategic (oil/coal/aluminium/uranium etc)? I know there is smartmap, but it allways procuces storms, + there might not be any sulphur/tea/uranium in map.

As for the bonus issues, try Tejon's altered bonus spawns. They work much better and will be in Better Rom. Barbarian World was meant to be hard, I didn't change it. (I played with a it a few times. I was overrun.)

Yeah, the lack of specific resources is real PITA. Conquering is questionable, since you don't have resources to build proper army. In one of my last games, I was the only one who didn't have sulphur. Since the map was Medium and Small, my coast was at the mercy of foreign brigantines and frigates. And, funny story - I saw a source of sulphur owned by Sumerian, I managed to organize an expedition to get that city, when my forces were just couple tiles away, that city has been captured by my closed ally  However, he was not as close and good friend to trade sulphur to me....

In my opinion, sulphur should be much more available since it is just a MUST to have it.

I had a very fun time attacking with a stack of longbowman and catapults, really effective when the other guy has Riflemen!

You don't say! Catapults are very useful. And if you have proper advantage in numbers (lets say 8:1) of units, you can get a chance

When i lauch the mod i cant see all the writing things like solo play those things...
even when in game i cant
