Using Full RoM, AND beta11

{Required Files} {Realistic Diplomacy} {Seafaring } Arctic Forestation {Lead From Behind} {Surround and Destroy} {No Storms} {Historical Wonders} {Mega Civ Patch} {Better RoM}

My problem is whenever I load up the mod and try to load a save game I get a CTD
However, if I were to start a new game and then load the same save game (as in he one that 'caused' the CTD) it loads fine.

Will the horrendous scoreboard be able to be fixed after you've merged in the new RevDCM and so on, Afforess? It would be a terrific shame to speed up the game so much and then have horrible animation lag. (Even the wonder FMVs play jerkily.)

We can only hope..

Dear Afforess,
I think that some guys have already reported this, but I just tried beta11 and I can say that
there is terrible slowdown of the game in comparison to let say beta 1-4. Sth is causing great
slowdown, really. I dare to say that beta11 works couple times slower than beta4. In current game after 250 turns, the time between turns is 10-15 sec. while in beta4 it was 2-4 sec. Dramatic change.

I can fully understand that small complaints like nuke pollution can be easily dismissed, and I don't care because they do not affect game. But such a slowdown is a cause to come back to beta4 no matter that I really like the changes in next betas.

To make things clear - I didn't change the game settings nor hardware playing beta4 and beta11.

Are you aware of the problem? Any recommendation which component should I turn off? anything?

Now I download 1.6 beta11. And... I don't have hud! Why? Screen:

Slowdown with the UI or the turn times themselves? If you mean the UI, then good news, updating to BUG 4.3 fixed it.

Oh Szemek, turning everything into a drama. There is no bug with Nukes. I just tested one in my beta12 game to make you happy, I got 4 squares of fallout. The other post was just sheer coincidence, since fallout spread is random.

Hi! I don't know if this bug has been reported yet: If you "buy" some units from a trade partner and the units are ships which have been loaded with units before the sell your new ships may show they have no loading space left at all see screenie: (2/2), I also had a (1/2) buy one time, leaving one cargo space. The space can't be cleared by clicking the unload button (which shows up, nonetheless). Maybe upgrades help to clear the loading space, don't know - I will try that once my galleys become fluyts.

One other thing: conventionally, I need several (many, many) turns to get from England to Japan (I play world map) but If I sign a deal with Tokugawa, 4 galleys just warp to me in 1 turn. Thats pretty unrealistic--- can't there be a formula that gives the units only after as many turns as the beelined tiles between the two trading coordinates sum up?

I'm sorry, what is UI? As simple as that: my last unit is making move then you have this little earth spinning. Right? Takes 32,33 sec. (to be precise) on turn 279. Just finished a game on beta4 and now I'm trying beta11. Huge difference. Really huge. I do remember that some guys (Strategyonly for example) mentioned this problem, didn't they?

1. Can you confirm slowdown or not? If YES, then:
a) Did you study that problem?
b) Any conclusions, what causes that?
c) Any recommendation? Is it just a component (I would eagerly turn it off :)) or the problem is deeper?

If NOT, I will check carefully my PC. However, it hasn't changed much for last two weeks  and I used the same settings (as for map size, number of AIs and so on) as for last game on beta4. Last question: can Smart Map be the problem????

Since when I don't care means turning everything into a drama? I'm not sure what to say. Is it your general or specific comment? I really don't want to bother you, really.

Interesting catch with the ships. I'll fix the cargo space issue. I also agree with you that "warp" speed transactions shouldn't be happening, but that's an issue for 1.70...

UI stands for User Interface. It's the screen, the buttons, and stuff like that.

As for 30 second turn times, it must be a bad install or your computer. I'm 500 turns in and my turns on a standard map are like 8 seconds.

No one else has complained about turn times, only the sluggish UI.

Well, I do think it's slightly slower than Beta 10 and I know it's slower than 1.55, but then it has so many more features than before. (Comparisons made with the Huge/Marathon Earth 28 scenario.)

I'm having a few confusing problems.
I just installed W7 32 bit, thus reinstalling Civ and BTS both patched up to current -bts runs fine
Mega RoM + latest patch downloaded - RoM runs fine
Dl AND the beta 1.6 - installs fine
I run the program through the civ mod chooser and first of all it takes upwards of ten minutes to show any sign besides the title within tasks manager.
When it starts showing signs of life, I get countless xml errors.
When I go to the 1.53 version from a fresh bts I'm left with no hud in the game (though it loads extremely fast)
When I go up to 1.5 from there I get countless, yet different, xml errors.

I play Huge/Snail Earth 18 Civs (+Rev/BarbCiv-Civs) but the speed experience you made absolutely matches mine.

Okay, so as the administrator I was able to get the beta to install.
It starts up perhaps a tad slower than normal which is expected.

However, when changing the display setting or when going to start a new game it says something about a DX error.

I'm using W7 so DX 10 is installed.

Any ideas?

if not I can go and get the full error message.
