I am sorry I found a new crash, afaik i didnt screw up this time. Sorry bout last time. As soon and as I end turn it crashes back to desktop.

Did you install Hydro's health buildings addon? Check in your modules sub-directory of the RoM folder for a Hydro directory and Health subdirectory. For complete info on how to deal with the issue, check out this post.

Many thanks for the advice btw scribbler.

No problemo. I was wrong to dismiss this problem the first time I saw it myself - was even rather snarky to a few posters here. Luckily I found a good pain med for dealing with a series of headaches I'd had for a couple of weeks.

You can tell how well the pain meds are working by how helpful versus snarky I am :D

yeah i did install that, i heard about this prob in 1.72, i just thought it was fixed in 1.73beta2. Thx very much for the hint!

I am definitely getting some weird bug that must be related to PerfectWorld2 thats giving me CTD's every time I regen the map.
I have tried 5 separate times to try and run a map with 1.73beta2 and PW2, and after the first regen or the second regen of the map it CTD's.
On a possibly related note, I get some weird xml error on startup saying something about Hydromancers garbage dump, but after clicking ok the game boots as normal.

Any idea's?

Regenerating Maps that need bulks of memory often (always?) exceeds the available memory cause before doing a regeneration of the map its not cleared correctly, I think.

Happens to me, too. Just restart the game and do it all over...

In a "normal" non-perfectworld map like "archipelago, large" I can regenerate once, though.

I did try Hydro's Rubbish civic for all of the time it took to install and fire the game up for the first game. I instantly got XML exceptions, so I deleted the module and carried straight on :(

I'm not sure if this is fixed in Beta2, but in this campaign I'm doing with 1.73, I feel like revolutions occur WAY too often. Every 5-10 turns, it seems like one of the other civs has a revolution, and in twice that time, a new civilization comes out. I'm playing on a Large map with like 10-15 civilizations normally, and due to revolutions, there are 30 on the map.

Another complaint: The other civs annoy me ceaselessly with their BS. EVERY TURN they offer me money for workers that I reject, and when I'm at war with ANYONE, there's a whole cadre of 7-8 of them who BEG me to stop fighting them. EVERY TURN, I have to whack them away.

DRJ is correct. The problem is that the game in memory isn't deleted until the new game is fully loaded. Your computer can't handle that much memory at once, and it crashes. A BTS design flaw, not a problem with this mod.

Really? I might have fixed it, I can't recall; but I haven't had any issues with it.

Use the "Cease Bothering Us" command for annoying civs.

I started using "Cease Bothering Us" but I'm worried it could lead to further wars in the future, because much of these civs don't have Open Borders or embassies with me, and their current state at me is "Furious"

Quite funnily, every single major issue I've had in the game, beyond the nonstop war with Rome, has been because I accepted Winston Churchill's Britain as my vassal. He dragged me into war with the biggest superpower, who then bribed every other nation into war with me, and now I am the sole superpower, and the entire world hates me---even two of my vassals hate me.

Good times. Total War times. Not blaming you or the game, just that I'm worried about having so many civs muted by my Cease Bothering Me!

Just evaluate whether or not a war with them would be that harmful. After all, if they start the war, war weariness hurts them a lot more than you. :mischief:

It would definitely hurt them to lose their navies and have their cities utterly destroyed and their people scattered, but it also hurts me to lose three pieces of artillery in the process! It hurts me DEARLY!

Perhaps you should play on a higher difficulty level :)

That makes perfect sense, except I always regen PW2 maps ( Im just really picky about the map I play on) and this has never happened to me before. its not uncommon for me to start a new game and regen the map until I find one thats interesting. Yes, it takes a ridiculous amount of time for me to find one usually, and its usually 10-15 mins for my comp to regen, but it has NEVER crashed.
Maybe Im running with some new or changed components that could affect it, or maybe something changed on my computer that would affect it also, but I know for certain that every version Ive played before has regenerated PW2 maps up to 10 times and never crashed before.
The crash produces one of those lame "CIV4 has encountered an error and needs to close, want to tell MS? " error messages. Is there any info on that that I could post here and be useful?
My comp is getting older and could use a new video card, but I highly doubt that I could load and regen PW2 5-10 times with 1.72, but I can barely regen it once with 1.73, just doesnt make sense.

There is a little trick to get a vassal without inhereting the war with a superpower the wanna-be-vassal is in. You neglect the "Let me be your vassal" question but right after your turn begins you collect some info and have a look if you can bribe (most of) the enemies into making peace with your wanna-be-vassal. You give them some old techs or money to do so (negotiate the actual deal!) and then ask to speak the wanna-be vassal, whose offer is still callable. That's how to gain a vassal + its resources without going to war.

In my recent game I gained 5 vassals by doing that, running Pacifism the whole time... :D

Would you guys consider this cheating? Is there a way to make it impossible, if so?

There was a bug with Personalized maps and Regeneration. I fixed it a while back, but I can't remember if beta2 has the fix. When I release beta3, tell me if you still have an issue. If so, I'll look into it then.

No, I don't. Considering how ruthless the AI has gotten with diplomacy, these seems fair.
