Here's your first main 1.74 bug for you.

Also, there seems to be the most random custom options made default, such as Limited Religions, Permanent War or Peace, etc. Was that purposeful?

Requesting a change for the university requirement from number of libraries owned to something like minimum population or culture. Having 8 cities and not being able to build oxford university is lame. It makes more sense anyway for something like culture or population. Theoretically I could have a few dozen glorified forts with 1 population and build it, while another civilization with five 20+ population cities with legendary culture couldn't.

Yep; missed that text key. Those options have changed their default status, it's because you had them on in a previous game before you started AND, because AND remembers previous gameoptions.

I think something got screwed up with the option to hide unavailable worker actions. It used to be I couldn't see actions until I had the right tech, but now I can even though I have the right option in BUG checked:

If you just turned on "Hide Unavailable Worker Actions", click on the worker again, and the actions will update. I just tested it myself, and it seems to be working fine.

I've had it on the whole time, but I'll try it again. Sometimes my computer acts weird after it has gone to sleep, so we'll see. I had some problems installing but I don't think that would be the issue. During final clean up the installer stopped working. I had to close it and run WOC manually. I'll let you know if the problem persists as I am seeing the same thing with obsolete buildings.

EDIT: I think it must have been my computer screwing up, because I rebooted and it seems to be fine now.

I'm certain that I've never had Final Five on before. But, eh, whatever, it's only the smallest of inconveniences.

If you had not played beta but rather jumped from one official version to next, then yeah it could had happened because the game options is changed :). It is one time thing only, I promise you. After you choose your preferences in Custom Game, it is forever what you chose :). Only thing you still need to customize are civs included, # of them, and map options, that's it.

@Afforess

Not sure yet, but it seem like holy city is broken. I mean when I get Great Prophet, I can build my religion's shrine in its holy city, right? Well, when I sent my GP to that city that founded my religion, I found that it is no longer a holy city, huh? That was at Revision 235 while I was alpha testing.

Now I'm in my new 1.74A game and I checked the symbol of my religion in my holy city. It is no different from any other city. You know the holy city's religion symbol have this strong bright bolded square about the symbol, right? Well it is not there. I'll wait until I get a GP and see what happen then report back here.

I think I may have discovered what is causing my worker actions to not work correctly. I've been playing top to bottom or whatever it's called. Each time I change civs I have to go to the AND menu in BUG and uncheck, then recheck hide unavailable worker actions. Minor annoyance.

Also, since I have been taking over AI civs, I have also noticed they are trying to beeline to religion techs pretty much at the exclusion of researching early techs. They seem to be doing this even though the time needed to do so is not worth it, at least that early on. When I took over the Sudanese, they were like 90 some turns from Hinduism, but didn't even have Agriculture, the Wheel, or Hunting.

That explains it. Thanks. :)

Luckily in my 1.74A game, the holy city work as intended :D. WHEW! So nothing to see here :). Move along...

Does 1.74 fix the "Waiting for other Civilizations..." infinite end of turn bug?

With a 99.9% probability, yes. Because all the time I was alpha and beta testing this version, far into late Industrial era, there was never an infinite loop.

1.74 patch A, with limited religions and choose religions options enabled, when I found a religion I get a bonus one for free. Attached is a save, one turn before founding a religion.

I have "Advanced Espionage" enabled and I was looking in the Espionage Screen when I noticed something.

The "Spread Anarchy" (I believe) says it requires "Code of Laws" while "Plant Nuke" doesn't require a tech (at least that's what it says) which means, in theory, you could nuke a city 1000 years before MP.

Of course, it's very expensive and on the size map and game speed, it's very very very expensive ('bout 42k versus the 17 I produce every turn before being divided a few ways).

I'll post a screenshot of this next time, but I think there's a bug in the tooltips. There's the line that tells you what it does and then under it, it says "Actual" but the problem is that the coin is replaced with beakers.

I'll post a screen a tad later.
