A New Dawn Bug Reports and Feedback

I'm not sure I understand you correctly, because (to me) "diplomacy section" and "foreign advisor" are the same thing.

I can think of two possibilities how seemingly dead rivals could appear to still be in the game. One is the option to show dead civilizations on the scoreboard (their score will then be displayed although the civs themselves are gone). The second is the option "Require complete kills", in this case rivals will stay in game even if they have no cities anymore, until you killed their last unit. Not sure whether one of these applies to your situation though.

By this i mean that i can go to the Diplomacy section within the Worldbuilder and they are there, yet i cannot find them on the map...
They appear in game turns for the usual 'Please aid with war'. Yet they are not on the Foreign Advisor display.

In Worldbuilder mode, there is no option to place Tribal Villages and ruins on a custom map that i want to make. Why are they removed in A New Dawn ?

i'm having the same issue w/ Patch H. Patch G was working fine loading the saved games. now i can't load anything.

I'm having this savegame CTD issue since patch H too, but found a casual workaround that hopefully will work for you too (and give Afforess a clue). Load your initial autosave (takes a while) and from that game load the problematic one.

I can't get past the next turn in the saved game attached to this post. The game doesn't crash and the music doesn't stop but the game simply seizes to function and seems to load forever. I tried waiting for upwards of 20 minutes only to have nothing happen. I 'End Task' via the Task manager and get the following error:

If I don't close Civ4 via the Task Manager the game seems to keep on loading forever.

I had been playing this saved game for about 40 minutes. I have tried reloading the game multiple times and restarted the computer.

Yet another bit of my being annoying with feedback:

I think the founding of Hellenism should be pushed further back, to a technology like Sculpture, given that there exists evidence of Hellenistic religion among the civilizations of what we call Minoans and Mycenaeans, dating from 3000 BC to 1200 BC and such. Meanwhile, Athletics typically coincides with the founding of the Olympics (given it enables that wonder) which was historically about 776 BC or so

Guys, why is this mod makes the game crashes so often?
i cant explaine why,and dont know where to look :(
it hasnt been perfected yet?

Hi hi,
Some strange occurrances with your mod, which are listed in the order that I got them. Sorry, but am posting from work so dont have the log file to hand - will upload later tonight if I can.

1) During install of the patch 1.74H: At the end of the installation I received an error popup saying "There was an error during installation", with an OK button to continue. Then the patch installer had a Finish button and that was it. Checked the log file and nothing there indicated an error - stated that all was well. So am not sure what caused this and what error'd out.

Oh, the RoM mod and 1.74 installed fine, no worries. I installed the 1.74 with custom and basically choose everything except the various skin options.

2) Screen resolution and game settings reset to default on every load of BtS and/or the mod. If I unload the mod, my game settings remain and are fine under other mods or the default. FTR I only have the custom Final Frontier Plus and Neoteric World mods installed.

EDIT: Found the other threads referring to the resolution issue. Please ignore.

3) I find that the game is EXTREMELY slow. Going from turn to turn, there is a real sense of pause and its so bad that I find it unplayable. I normally only get these types of insane pauses at the end of a game on huge maps where everything is developed and there are huge amounts of actions taking place. Never on a standard or smaller map. But these pauses happened on all map sizes at full graphic settings. (of course since the game & mod kept resetting my graphics, it is very hard to confirm if it would occur at a lower setting)

When time allows, I will reinstall BtS and then work through the sequence to your mod and see if things are better or if these errors are duplicated.

Hello, thanks for impressive work!
I have an issue.
ROM 2.92 AND 1.74 patch H
In year 1084 i get a stop after press end turn (perhaps a "Wait for other CI" issue?)
I send my last save before stop (save in the year 1082) and at the stop (save year 1084)
Can anyone hlep me please?

this usually happens when you install from a different drive

try installing into a dummy folder on the same drive and moving the files to the RoM folder

CTD when I try to load this save game.
It was working fine before, except yesterday and today I have been completely unable to get the game to load. I don't think anything changed since the time it was working properly. I have also attached the most recent auto save for reference.

Log:
Spoiler :

Edit: I can't get the auto save to load either. Also, I tried an earlier auto save, and I had the same problem.

First of all I am new to this mod and already like it very much.

My problem is, how do I build a fish market.
When I have a fishing hut, it says I need a fishing port or better.
Do I have a fishing port, it says I need a fishing hut, trading port or better.
Do I have a trading port, it says I need a fishing hut, fishing port, commercial port ...
You see I always need a fishing 'something' except the one I have :(

/cu steelm2003

Edit: Of course there are fishes in the city.

It replaces them if you already have them. It doesn't replace anything if you don't have part of the upgrade chain already - so you should be able to build any of those from scratch.

I don't think so. The fish market, the one I want to build, should be an additional building, which required a harbor type building (hut, port or better) and seafood in the city.
The problem is, I have seafood, but none of the harbor type buildings unlock the fish market.

Some python errors:

In the dynamic civ names component, you sometimes get weird ones like the "Kingdom English of London", when it should be "English Kingdom of London".

To do with events: will reference "T faith" without saying which religion "T" is.

Already fixed in the 1.75 beta.

Yeah - I'll go fix that now...

I'm having this savegame CTD issue since patch H too, but found a casual workaround that hopefully will work for you too (and give Afforess a clue). Load your initial autosave (takes a while) and from that game load the problematic one.

I did this, and it worked fine for me, once, but the second time I tried it to recover from a crash, I loaded the initial autosave and, upon arriving in the game, discovered that all my other autosaves had vanished! The files appear to have deleted themselves and I have no idea where they went, the autosave folder was definitely full of autosaves before I loaded the initial one, but afterwards it contained only the initial autosave. Does anyone have any idea if I can somehow recover the lost files? And why has this happened?

I usually copy the autosave out of their folder if I want to keep them. They do vanish from time to time, though I have never tried to find out the exact circumstances (perhaps someone else knows more?). I do suspect that starting a new game clears all autosaves of previous games. There may be other causes too - in any case, I recommend to move autosaves to a safe location if you're working with them and intend to keep them.

Thanks for putting in some of the civilopedia corporations into the mod. Appreciate that, although a few questions popped up...

A) While browsing through the article, I noticed that the periods and quotations disappeared...wonder what type of font does the civilopedia uses.

B) Looks like I still need to do a bit more research...turns out the origins of candy and sugar is a lot more different then I thought, will make a few updates.

C) And I will also put some more detailed information for the charity civics.

I'm having a similar problem, not sure if it's the exact same though. I made a post about it recently in this thread. Anyway, it sounds like the only sure-fire way to avoid the problem is to win the game in one sitting, which creates an interesting new level of difficulty for the game especially for those eternal speed players.
