Post count in IOT subforum?

I've posted the link to the online vBulletin manual elsewhere in Site Feedback. It's freely available. So is the support forum.

I tried to use that link - perhaps you linked an out-of-date version? It was wiki-style, and most of the areas that I was looking into were empty.

This link works fine for me... http://www.vbulletin.com/docs/html It includes lots of different versions (see the drop-down menu on the upper left area), and isn't a wiki.

That VBulletin manual link works fine for me, but the info starts getting thin when you get to the end of the branches.

"Here you go Lefty <3 text just for you"

A few more days untill the weekend! Who will get postcount? Who will be denied? Will the world be saved? Stay tuned to your CFC Information center for the latest non-developments.

Leet the good time roll. I hope SF keeps pc.

So BirdJag can continue his plot to gain postcount from posting indecipherable spam! I see through your plans mate. :p

Might as well steal forty cakes while you're at it.

Won't someone please think about the egos :(

Which version of vBulletin does CFC use? It looks like you're looking at material pertaining to the newest version, which I'm pretty sure we're not using.

3.8.2 is embarrassingly far down the drop down list on the online manual.
Search is not helping me much yet. I have not yet found out how one would turn postcount on and off.

I know it's possible, because it was done on a vBulletin forum I used to belong to (this happened in 2006). My postcount at the time was between 7500-8000, and it dropped to somewhere less than 500. The idiotadmin who turned off postcount in most of the forums had no clue that we'd lose our postcount for posts already made. Since some of the accesses and privileges on that forum were postcount-dependent, to say this caused a riot is an understatement.

I checked out the manual pages for version 3.8.2 - much more fleshed out. Thanks for the details! :hatsoff:

EDIT: where do we find the version of vBulletin the site is using?

When you log into the ModCP, then you'll see it at the login screen.
(many have it somewhere at the bottom, but in general it's said that it's saver to not have it displayed anywhere publically, to make the exploitation of possible security problems more difficult)

I feel like I am 12, sitting in the staff room at school, listening in.
