Aaron Russo ( February 14, 1943 – August 24, 2007) was an American entertainment businessman, film producer and director, and political activist. He was best known for producing such movies as Trading Places, Wise Guys, and The Rose. Later in life, he created various Libertarian-leaning political documentaries including Mad as Hell and America: Freedom to Fascism. After a six-year battle with bladder cancer, Russo died on August 24, 2007.

There doesn't need to be a conspiracy just because there are unanswered questions regarding 9/11. (Notably Fisk highlights that as of the time of his writing of The Great War for Civilization the FBI had only released the English translations of the 9/11 attackers diaries and notes which show a substantial lack of understanding about basic tenants of Islam and the mindset of suicide attacks. Fisk points out that it could just be a poor translation job; but without the original documents to check against, questions do remain.)

Okay, so we have an interview of Aaron Russo by Alex Jones. Russo claims that he became friends with Nicholas Rockefeller, who goes on to tell him all about the New World Order the Rockefellers and other members of the Council on Foreign Relations are trying to create. There are implanted RFID chips for all citizens which hold all their records and through which all transactions are done. If the government doesn't like what you're doing, they disable your accounts and you can't buy anything. They further want to turn NAFTA into the North American Union with its own currency, the Amero.

Russo claims that Nick Rockefeller told him, ten months before 9/11, that there would be an 'event' causing a War on Terror with invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq and no real enemy, which would be used to justify exerting more control. Nick Rockefeller invites Russo to join the CFR, but Russo refuses. This part of the interview closes with Russo saying that the women's liberation movement was created and funded by the Rockefeller clan and their ilk, in a bid to destroy the family and make everyone more subservient to the state.

Seems like a run-of-the-mill NWO conspiracy theorist. I don't see any good reason to believe him on any of this, but I like to take little sightseeing trips down the conspiracy theory rabbit hole, if only because it's interesting to see how people connect world events in their own minds.

Googling of his name reveals mostly things related to this interview, although he does seem to have a site where he portrays himself as an international businessman and member of the CFR and RAND among other organizations. Other websites claim he doesn't exist at all, although the CFR's website does list a Nicholas Rockefeller as a member. It does appear he is actually a very distant relation, if related at all, to the 'real' Rockefeller clan. Russo seems to try to mislead people on that point, as does Nick Rockefeller's website, which is full of links to the 'real' Rockefellers. I'm not sure what this guy's deal is.

My question is: if the conspiracy is real and the whole thing was an inside job - so what? What changes? That the US government isn't an entirely benevolent institution and prone to subterfuge, even (occasionally) against its own populace? Yeah, we knew that already. That Bush and much of his cabinet weren't particularly effective leaders and committed war crimes? Yeah we knew that. That we shouldn't have invaded Iraq and Afghanistan? Yeah we knew that.

It's a common theme of many of these conspiracy theories - Benghazi, The Moon Landing, The Kennedy Assassination, hell the Maine boiler explosion - like ok, say this was an intentional coverup, now what? Gotcha to something that happened a decade ago? It doesn't really matter. Move on.

Of course he exists and is a member of the 'real' Rockefellers. That's pretty obvious.
I'm not certain that the websites with whom he is associated are actually controlled by him however.

Yeah, he does exist, but there's very little information out there other than that he is a businessman whose work is mostly in China. All the powerful groups he's apparently a member of would suggest that he is a 'real' Rockefeller, but probably a fairly distantly related one given the lack of information on Google about him.
