And this is relevant, because it may be possible to develop a Barbecue tech that raises your Ag capacity by 1 (smoking/curing can be used to preserve meats) and also brings happiness to your people.

If I agree to exchange techs with another civ, do I get their tech going into the next turn (i.e. can use the tech in my orders immediately), or does the exchange happen during the update (for use the following turn)?

Next, is there a limit on how many EP can be pumped into Research each turn? How about for a Wonder?

You do, assuming they do not renegade on the deal in their orders So perhaps use it with contingency in place in case it falls through!

Id rather avoid its accelerating effects, yet. Perhaps an advanced diplomacy tech will allow it
