Scientific Method is only widely used for about three centuries now. Give it some time.

This is a cool finding. I think we'll just have to keep looking for more though. It seems likely that only one small planet would form there.

That's sadly true, it's lucky we manage to find our own, we usually remain in touch with it.

I'd rather wait for an inhabitable planet to use Chiron, personally.

They have to name a planet around Alpha Centauri Chiron. I'm going to start lobbying the few astronomers I know to make it so.

I rather doubt NASA will still be around in hundreds of years to care about the answers. During that time, we will either have advanced enough to overtake such a probe, or we will have regressed enough that we will either not care, or will have forgotten.

Is that really a surprise given that we have only partially explored one solar system so far? Finding a planet orbiting the nearest neighboring star which could likely support life just increased those odds substantially.

Pseudo-habitable, minimum. The original Chiron did have a toxic atmosphere.
