Miratech and its international partners have conducted the first international eye tracking study to measure how men and women look at the photo of a sexy and provocative young woman.

Men look at the chest 37% longer than women!

Spoiler :
Women look at the ring 27% more than men.

Be honest guys: Did you even NOTICE the ring?

Nothing that should surprise anyone here, is there? :)

I remember reading somewhere that (straight) men also look at the privates of other men more than women.

There was a ring?

The hell, how did the women even spot that? I can barely see it.

37% and 27% aren't exactly colossal differences in this context. They show a greater tendency on the part of either set, but far from overwhelmingly so. It seems like this should challenge preconceptions about the tendencies of each gender, rather than re-enforce them.

Eh, there's a limit to how much we should read into where people look on a still picture of one particular girl, I suppose. :)

Though I would think that 37% more on one measurement for one group, and 27% more on another measurement for the second group, doesn't exactly lend itself to challenge the preconceptions, does it?

Anyhow, I still thought it was a funny study/videos. And I did not notice the ring.

Wedding rings are completely irrelevant (at least, to guys) in the context of a digital picture. Maybe in person they'd be more of a deal.

Well, I suppose that depends on your preconceptions. I just get the impression that people would have guessed that the first measure, how long each gender looked at the woman's chest, would have averaged out at something like 3:1, rather than a poxy little 1.37:1. But, perhaps I'm wrong. :dunno:

Nah, we're all still human.

I didn't count, but I'll put my money on both men and women spending the majority of the time looking at that woman's face, as that it where one can learn most about that other person.

That guys look more at a woman's bust than women do is in line with my preconceptions, of course. But I do know that women are also acutely aware of men's interests in their breasts, and so are, by necessity if nothing else, interested in their own and other women's (competition/comparison) breasts. So women will look a lot too.

Same deal with crotch glances I'd expect.

Though my preconceptions do make me believe that men didn't as much look at the ring, as on that woman's hand! However, I haven't bothered to count how often men and women looked at the other hand to make sure.

Well if she's wearing a shirt like that, what does she expect? :p

speak for yourself. I certainly don't look at other men. I look at other women (although not necessarily the privates, I look at the entire picture)

Most guys I know what these studies to focus on women. I'm not sure why--I know what I want to look at already, nor am I a woman. I'd rather the eye tracking looked at a male subject. That would tell me a lot more.

I'm 26 so looking at a girl's ring finger has become depressingly instructive. I'd say it was the 3rd or 4th place I look.

I never look for a ring unless I'm seriously thinking about asking a woman out. Otherwise it's just fantasy, and who cares.

I was looking at the red dots the whole time. She's not that attractive though.

Slightly related: Does anyone else notice that people who have similar facial features tend to have similar personalities? I wonder if that's my mind playing tricks on me or not.
