Can you save my gameplay please.

I got CTD every time when i try to load it from save file (latest nightly build).

Rev 713 (DL'd the full thing today).
When I press F1 to see the city list, game freezes, upon alt+tabbing to desktop I get this message:

Error!
ArtInfo: 'ART_DEF_MOVIE_HOUSE_OF_PARLIMENT' was not found.

and then

Error!
ArtInfo: 'ERROR' was not found

(spelling as is, maybe that "parliment" instead of "parliAment" is to blame?)

Interestingly enough, after OK'ing these two errors and alt+tabbing back to the game, it works!

Here's the savegame if needed : http://forums.civfanatics.com/showpost.php?p=13231457&postcount=27

Same happens to me and I have no clue on what's going on. Have you tried reloading from an earlier save or autosave and playing on?

Edit: I'm not sure but did you start your game with an earlier version and then switched to rev713? There must be some incompatibility, probably due to some gameoptions being removed. Possibly Afforess is able to solve it, I really don't know how to do it.

Ah... yeah removing options is something even Koshling's amazing compatibility mechanisms can't quite account for. Once there, at least the xml and enums should still reflect them in their original position. They CAN be renamed so if you have other option needs come up you can use those slots for the renaming but removing them entirely is going to cause compatibility issues as you noted.

I went to great pains to ensure removing dark ages & elections did not break save compatibility, testing with older saves of my own. I will check out yours, Nimek.

There's also an error on ART_DEF_MOVIE_CORPORATION_FISHMONGUILD. I can't see any xml change that could cause this problem lately; Afforess, could it also be in the dll, somehow connected to Dark Ages / Election or K-Mod? I haven't checked your changes yet.

No, actually it is because I added the new and improved C2C art asset debugging code. The errors it is showing have always been there, now the DLL is properly reporting it! ;)

See the first bullet point here:

Revision 709

  • Merge some C2C changes regarding improved art asset warnings when art is missing
  • Removed old election & dark age mod code, cuts down on memory slightly
  • Log trade caravan unit ai
  • Change lighthouses to give +1 commerce
  • Fix dynamic civ names when using a golden age to immediately exit anarchy

So now someone needs to track down and fix or remove those art asset references.

You're right! I forgot that change because I skipped it when importing some other minor changes from the same C2C revision, if I'm not mistaken.
I'll have a look at those art asset references.

If I knew "how" to fix them I would help. :(

Fishmonger is easy, it's just a missing tag. House of Parliament, I guess it doesn't have a movie. I'll see what I can do tomorrow. Too late for me now here in Italy. :)

If it does work to remove them safely now, AIAndy's adjustments have done wonders! He toyed around with the enum file on that a bit ago and I've not tried to remove one since.

The Catacombs issue has been brought up before, but I'm experiencing some oddities with the Moat building.

I captured this city 30 turns or so ago, yet my troops are unable to enter the tiles around it
View attachment 375712

However, after going into the city and abandoning the Moat structure, my troops can now enter the tiles around it.

This was a city I captured yes, but it's been under my control for a while now but still wouldn't let my troops into those tiles until I removed it. Is this because of the Assimilation option or does the castle improvement always behave like this?
*edit to add* that the city in the lower left had that issue as well, but stopped recently. Moat is still there, but the enemy Zone of Control isn't. Guess I held onto the city long enough for the thing to "swap" to my side?

I have a crashing save, it keeps crashing, under SVN's 708, 710 and 713.

I'll attach 2 dump files, 707 and 710, they must work -1 SVN's behind in numbering?? Nothing in files, game just goes into Do_Exit mode,

Tried it from an earlier save, and different attack, swapped civs I was attacking, but still crashed after 3 turns.

@ Nimek - I was able to play on 5 turns ahead, it did ask to up date the DLL, but I have 713 as you do?? or is your's earlier??

Anyway I'll upload a save on next turn unaltered for you if you want. I won't up date DLL either.

I can't try without a save but do you know how moats/zoc works? IIRC it affects both your rival and your units: you can't move between 2 tiles under ZoC, so that move in your first screenshot is forbidden; you can only move in and out of the city. On the other hand, I'm not sure myself but the ZoC could still be there because those tiles are still under foreign control. With the new culture system that Afforess is proposing, we might solve the problem.

I don't really know how the Zone of Control mechanic works, only that it's been a source of frustration every time I encounter it. If a ZoC under your control blocks your own units from moving about, I just don't understand that.

I checked the other city that was only being affected by the ZoC earlier in the war, and it's only 25% of my culture right now, so I don't know if that made it stop or what. I do have Rifling now though, so that's obsoleted the Walls requirement of it. So it's a little too late to be able to provide a save, though this was from my game in the Comparison thread. Siam has moats and stuff in every city of his.

Fixed, I'll upload the fix later today. I had to create a new video for Parliament as I was unable to find one in AND folders.

Rezca can correct me if I am wrong, but the problem Rezca is having is that Zone of Control is blocking HIS units, when HE OWNS the city that is generating the zone of control. It should only affect enemy units.

Did I understand the above correctly?

If I had to guess, it would be due to buggy Zone of Control caching. Does saving and reloading the save fix it? If so, its the cache.
