There aren't any previews yet because I've not done any yet! There's three Indian civs in the mix, the Harappans, Kushan and Maurya - so they'll need some units doing, as units specific to that culture are few and far between.

I'm glad you like the leaderheads ;) .

Oh sweet! I`ve been waiting for ages! Atlast the Indics in my Waagh!hamma! will get fresh oonits! :D

Those both look great. You've gone all-out on the beardage there. I approve. My only comment is that I think that Charlemagne always wore a blue cloak, but I don't have a source for this to hand.

You're right...and if you look carefully - he is ;) .

In other news...RedAlert was on these boards earlier this evening  hope he's staying around...

Iona was going to have some early pollution-busting buildings; perhaps I could give this to Maurya now?
Entirely appropriate. Asoka was really big on things like planting trees along highways and providing rest stops with piped in or reservoired water, providing civic improvements like parks (what we would call nature preserves or sanctuaries), hospitals, etc., and what today would be called ecological awareness.
Whilst I'd got that hair/beard prop available (i.e. the one I used for Charlemagne)
If that's a free prop that you could share, I've been looking for something like that to tuck away so that eventually I can make a saddhu unit (one of those ascetic Hindus that wanders around). the really bushed out version would look like the Maharishi (Beatle's guru). And maybe also use him as an advisor (culture?).
whilst I have one PC doing generic Greek units and the other doing generic Indian units.

I don't know what specific units you have in mind; I hope you'll want some early input on the look for whichever ones you want to do.

In terms of the Indian units, I've been looking at the bazaar links for ideas; it'll be pretty much a "take it or leave it" approach to units this week I'm afraid; I'm dying to get this all finished and don't want to spend all week making tweaks and additions to the basic units. I may introduce more units as I do the expansions. Don't worry though, they'll be alright and as much like the pictures as they can be.

The beard prop is one I paid for and so I'm unable to share it. It's Anton's fantasy beard incidently. I like the idea of making the culture advisor as you suggested; I have already got a set of advisors, but if I get time, I might well do that one.

The generic Greek units would be exactly that; Greek looking spearmen and swordsmen to replace the "Tool Age Spearman" and "Bronze Age Warrior" for the Greek civs.

Virotes' Diomedes is perfect as a Mycenian spearman, if thats any help in reducing time.

Look for already existing units that are at least decent placeholders along the following lines:
  • round shields, often with multiple bosses.
  • swords can be of any shape, from Greek or Roman type to scimitar.
  • Archers, archers, archers.
  • solid, bat-like maces.
  • often Middle-Eastern or Persian units will do; turbans were pretty generic in South Asia long before the Moslems got there.
I've seen likely candidates in mods/scenarios like Rise of the Mughals, Desert & Mountain, MEM II, RFRE (Elephants, especially), TAM.

If you give me a list, maybe while you use placeholders, I can help you track down suitable stand-ins. For example, a lot of African units (like some of Plotinus') can stand in for Tamils.

I've been spotted! Hello, there. ;)
I say, R8, this mod looks spectacular. You've outdone yourself ten-fold.
You wouldn't happen to have any plans to give old Carolus Magnus there three more eras, would you?
Anyway, really great stuff! :goodjob:

Aye, Charlemagne could get the full four eras when the mod's done.

I'd say back, you wouldn't happen to have any plans to do some Indian cities for the mod would you :mischief: ? Ok, you've just come back for a visit...I understand ;) .

Well, I don't see why I couldn't stick around ;)
Indian cities, eh? I may be able to help you there. Would you happen to have a pic/preview of what cities your using for each culture group?
(While we're on the topic of Indian cities, did Aion ever finish his?)

...RedAlert was on this evening, too!
You guys are real sleuths. :D

:stupid: What he said. You are something of a legend around here. Welcome back. Even if you aren't going to be actively modding it would be great for you to stick around. ;)
