Appropriate use of force by police

Once, I was choked by a roommate of mine. I looked him in the eyes and told him to squeeze harder and get his testicles out of my legs reach. He backed off, confused, and never choked me again.

Then again, I'm not some testosterone driven donkey who kicks women to prove they shouldn't play footsies with me.

Maybe I should stop trying to take the high road...seems there's idiots out there who will defend you, no matter what you do.
I said, I give up already!

SOunds like something I'd do.

Prison time sounds like a bit much. When you consider the protections we give cops in prison, he would have been expensive to lock up. Fire him. Make him lose his pension. Don't waste more state money on the guy.

If he loses his appeal could he have his sentence increased?

Is he appealing just to stop being sacked by the police so he keeps being paid?

I don't believe losing an appeal would change his sentence.

He's appealing because it's the American way. They already stopped paying him over a year ago. There's no way he'll work as a cop again.

Heh.

#1) This woman isn't very smart.

#2) This cop should get punished for this.

It's really that simple.

I doubt she was injured, some people play rough, she started it and the kick looked soft.

If she was injured then he should be punished accordingly, otherwise it shouldnt have made court. If theres no injury from defensive force why bother about it?

All the war in the world shows that we need to encourage physical activity, especially by civil servants.

She appears to have been kicked unconscious. Thats a serious injury.

There was nothing in any way defensive about his assault. You do realise "they started it" and self defence are completely separate concepts?

I'm just surprised he didn't use the currently approved means of abusing people who "resist arrest".

If you can prove that why dont you?

I dont care

Surprised is excessive but I agree that the guy might be a pioneer in law enforcement.

There is nothing "pioneering" about yet another demonstration of police abuse.

All the war in the world shows that we need to encourage physical activity, especially by civil servants.

I hope you realize how monumentally stupid this is.

I wonder, if it was a teacher kicking student in the head in a similar situation (without the cuffs), what would reactions be?

Then, another question is that if teacher doing so is unacceptable, shouldn't it be even more so when it's a police, since they have to face provocation and estimate the correct use of violence all the time?

Video says he kicked her spark out. You want to argue what we saw wasnt a serious assault and that the video and the court is wrong do so. You are the one challenging not only what we saw but the deliberations of the twelve good men and true, so the onus is on you old boy.

Why do you wonder that? My reaction would be quiet applause, assuming no parties were injured.

I think Ive seen evidence of Finland pioneering criminal rehabilitation methods so Im interested in what you have to write.

Ive watched 3 videos and I cant hear anything about spark. Show me the evidence, and if its in the courtroom vid plz highlight the time its at. Anyway kicking spark out does not mean concussion.
