Are smokers an unrightfully persecuted minority?

I think the hiccup attacks (they weren't big hiccups, just a lot of them nontstop) were actually nicotine overdose.

Yeah, I stopped doing that. :)

Smoke, from a substance which is burning. Continuously inhaling this hot smoke, day after day out of an obligation based on addiction.

Pathetic. Everyone who smokes is pathetic. When I was an addict I was pathetic, but at least I wasn't delusional. I knew what I was. People who make excuses for their addiction are more pathetic because they are incapable of seeing the truth through the smoke.

Just the facts, don't mean to offend.

This is the kind of mindset it takes if you wanna quit smoking. I can see why you think this way.

I disagree that there's anything inherently wrong with inhaling hot smoke though.

Or my confusion as to why anyone would want to live in a stinking, polluted, hellhole of concrete and pavement? An unhealthy and unnatural rat maze of humanity? My perpetual bewilderment that people are stupid enough to enjoy being in cities, much less the total idiots that want to breathe that air perpetually because they choose to live there?

Ooh, what's this self-righteous judgement that's unbecoming of a reasonable moderate?

Hasn't it occurred to you that some people have no choice, that their means of livelihood are tied to the city? Not everyone can just move to the countryside and start working the land. Even they wanted to, who's to say they could find a land that's not already bought up by a huge corporation likely to be based or owned by people in cities?

Reminds me of all these annoying druids that whine about cities in RPG games.

Are you a profesional moron or just a gifted amateur?

Just a question, no offense intended.

Its okay. Smoking so so offensive its not too great a burden to lay out the truth and catch flack over it. Just remember Ziggy, I quit, and you can't. :)

Because we like people and cities are full of people.

Take it as its intended, a challenge to prove me wrong.
Why would I desire to prove anything to you? You think you are that important? My word, you really do have a gift.

If I try to quit smoking it'll be on my own terms. Not because some random bornagain non-smoker on the interwebs challenged me.

Now that would be pathetic.

:dunno: Just trying to improve the world a little bit. You'll walk away from here and try to forget, but every time you lower yourself to suck another butt you will know I'm right and what you need to do to fix it.

Good luck. :)

I moved to a rather nice city a few years ago. I quite like being able to walk everywhere, and think it's a great place to live - plenty of services and things to do, low crime rate, beautiful old buildings and riverside pubs. The only problem is all the tourists who agree with me!

Cav, I apologize for the namecalling. Broke my own rule on that. I'm a bit short-fused lately.

Your comments are despicable, you are not

Its okay again Ziggy, no harm done. Smoking is despicable, you are definitely not. :b:

My comments were of a general nature about 'smokers being pathetic, particularly those who make excuses', and you took it very personally. I understand that, when I used to smoke I'd have done the same thing.

Smokers tend to be annoying because those around them often get second hand smoke from their habits. However, outside of that, it's not that different to other types of addiction... like video games, sugar, etc.

I am addicted to tasty stuff and while I ain't out of control, it's preventing me from losing weight quickly. Every other time I finish a job, I treat myself with a cup of juice or a dish of dessert. Puts all that hard work to waste. Pathetic eh?

If you go back and pick up the previous context for which I made that post these responses are all kinda the point of it.

Yeah, maybe you should keep repeating it. That'll help making the world a better place.

and you took it very personally.
And you don't understand why I'd do such a thing?

Don't tempt me now.

I understand that, when I used to smoke I'd have done the same thing.
Indeed, because it would be aimed at you. When it's aimed at others, you seem to be perfectly fine with it.

I understand exactly why. Anyway, enough of this.
