Yeah, the applications are ruining facebook... I don't think there's a single application that actually adds to the experience of using facebook; worse, facebook appears confused and conflicted -- is it a social networking site? do I use it to play games with friends? is it a "quiz" site?

I don't feel it's a 'cool' subject! Neither one neither the other, for me, it isn't a cool propaganda, but a place to say in to the world WHO AM I!!! Or just to see news of our friends and of our favorite bands!!!

It's primarily used by college students, that's why.

That's not really saying much. The only thing left that I like about Myspace is that it's easier to edit your profile.

you used to have to be in college to get on facebook, and people had to confirm that you went there. but now highschoolers can get them too.

The free gifts application is fairly usefull, i dont like the idea of paying 10p for one of them gifts that are offered.

Right now i've got a christmas tree too and look my avatar came back into fashion. I've got scrubs quotes as well but thats because its awesome.


OP- yeah i think i've got both, i've got the majority of socialising sites out there but i only really check facebook.

i'd have to agree on the social contact- a lot more rewarding.

Myspace and all of it's clones suck.

Myspace itself is a clone of Friendster, fyi.

I had an account, and then deleted it when it revealed itself to be relatively pointless (at least at the time). Recently, however, I created a new one in order to rejuvinate my stagnant social life. It's worked too, I've got a full schedule this weekend for the first time since August, I think.

I have a Facebook and a Myspace - My cousins in Mexico all have Hi5 but they have myspaces too so I don't see the need to get one.


What's up with everyone hating on other sites for no reason.
It would be one thing if everyone on myspace was just random people from other parts of the world adding each other but, it's not. Granted I only have like 60 friends ( 10 of them bands) but, I know everyone and have all of their numbers and such, see them usually once a month at least.

You are on a Forum, ...... if you wanted to argue with someone about politics you could just go to one of those political meetings at a local library, right?

You don't for a number of reasons.

Just the same there are good reasons to use social networking sites as well.
one bulletin you can have everyone informed rather than having to text/call everyone. ...... I used to think I was too cool for myspace too, eventually your friends will grab you too

I use myspace, mostly to message a few friends.

Cancelled facebook because I got sick and tired of all the zombie, pirate, funwall, younameit crap. And I couldn't sign up in any of the groups cause it wouldn't do the phone verification thing. I don't trust the amount of personal info they collect either.

That's why you give them fake personal information. As far as Facebook knew when I had my account, I was Richard Nixon, a 90-something-year-old zombie living in Oklahoma City. Of course, the account eventually got banned, but I didn't particularly care.
