Ugh. So many pages. Off to lectures now.

Unvote
Vote: choxorn

Reason: Mostly just a prod. He's posted during various times, so appears to be following, but hasn't contributed much of anything that actually relates to scumhunting.

It's day 1, I don't have enough to go on to actually scumhunt, even with this being an especially active day 1. Anyone who's seen me play as town should know that I'm not a remotely effective scumhunter for the first 2 or 3 days, I get crap reads if I get any at all.

FWIW, Visor doesn't strike me as particularly scummy right now, scum Visor isn't usually quite as talkative as town Visor. Glossy seems a bit suspicious, like Pouter said he seems to be trying to fill the thread with lots of nothing, which is greatly to the benefit of the scum- most of what's going on that he, Lassie and Visor aren't involved with is kind of flying under the radar.

I disagree with a Visor lynch, mainly on the basis I haven't really seen a good reason to lynch him, although this is the most I can remember thinking hes scummy, including everytime he actually was.

Probably nothing.

KingMorgans vote I can see being scum, if it wasn't for his meta of doing things I'd count as scummy, so not particularly note-worthy.

I'd also prefer not to lynch one of the 'new' players (for the forum) D1, just as per my policy.

That being said, over 3 days left, and 7 votes away from a hammer, it is kind of meh.

Glossy does stick out a bit to me though, nothing in particular, just a slight gut feeling.

Or to put it another way, I got nothing thats worth lynching someone for.

Good god there is a lot of pages already. Will read them later today during my 6 hour layover.

I still remember you wanting to make me a serial killer with no kill. :p

Anyway, I figure my desire to skate along this game needs to be thrown in the trash as for some strange reason I am the only person not allowed to take a game off.

Reads:

Likely Town:
Kennigit - Like what he's saying. Fits his town game.

Lassie - Like what he's saying so far.

Lohrens - Seems townieish on tone.

Newyn - Tone read.

Pouter - Same as he was in the game on GITP, like it so far.

Takhisis - Feels like town takhisis to me.

Xym - town on tone/gut, his post looks fine to me.

Town:
Cass_ - Minor town lean (mostly because too many neutrals) doesn't seem like she has a particular agenda, sorta like the tone of her posts.

Choxorn - Could go both ways. Certainly hiding in the background a bit and not exactly leading discussion, but thats not how he plays anyway. Just a tone read on him.

Murska - Minor town read based on tone.

Neutral:
Autolycus - no posts IIRC

BSmith - no posts IIRC, low activity is his scum meta but lately its non alignment indicative so read into that what you will

Edse - Don't remember much of what he has posted.

Golden - Hasn't posted, doesn't post much. No read.

Jarrema: Would always love to get rid of me early if he was scum, but often believes his scum reads on me a lot. Could go either way, need a bit more to see where he's at. Potentially minor town lean for now. Always votes me D1.

KingMorgan: Generally always votes me initially D1. We normally exchange some sort of banter about english and Australian sporting teams, except the English test team are doing quite well at beating the South African under 12's so not much to discuss there. Minor town lean on past history, will need to see more.

Legato Endless - not sure if he's posted.

Special Category:
Glossy: Both ways. Dollars to Donuts she'd love to catch me as scum, so her reacting the way she did would not be unsurprising as town. Her reasons and reactions after that have been quite lackluster, but overall I think I am going to give a minor town lean, though not very strong. I'm mostly voting her out of spite. Sue me. ;)

Landlubber - Could go either way. Would certainly like to lynch me early if scum, but could genuinely believe I am scum, would like to see his interactions with other players to get a better read on his game.

Mat93 - Been very softly softly so far this game. Some of the things he has said has been pretty solid, but I'm not liking the cautious approach. I don't remember much of his playstyle, would like to see a bit more aggression and interactions/hunting from him to get a good read.

Zack: Could swing either way. Not really much to say here, he's certainly low impact and his mafia games generally tend that way, but he also doesn't seem to care about giving reads, so who knows. Neutral for now, until I see more.

Scummy:
Al Sips - Talking about not having a similar level of impact, over his last few games his town performances have been quite good, high level of activity and content, and no prisoners taken. I am a fan of how he goes about his business, but the one post bandwagon vote on me today hasn't exactly given me a good feeeling. Mildly scummy, need to see more.

Arakhor - Kennigit was dead on the money earlier, Arakhors interactions didn't exactly seem genuine to me. Definitely need to see more.

Backwards Logic
- His reaction to edses vote seemed very fake.

Cuth - Already detailed, thought his reactions and reads around the me/Newyn thing were fake, not exactly assured of the content.

Sooh - This is a minor one, but Sooh's been quite quiet despite being around, I would like to see more from her and what she thinks, just a gut read on this one.

Now the lot of you can sod off and lynch someone who is actually scummy.

Good enough for me, Visor. Your reads seem genuine enough.

Scum- Zack, Cuthilius, Arakhor, Cass, Mat93, landlubber

Town- visor, Lassie, Lohrens, Kennigit, Xym, edse, Jarrema, Pouter, choxorn

???- Takhsis, Murska, Al Sips, Newyn, Sooh, King Morgan, Backwards Logic, no/1/2 posters

Yup, that was a bit of tunneling+reaction testing. Call me scummy for it, but we won't be lynching Visor today.

Let's lynch Cuthilius instead. (Ooh, now how will people react?)

I predict that my wagon is mostly town, actually. [emoji14] Not so with Visor's wagon.

Of course, I can explain my reads, but that wouldn't be as fun, would it? I'll wait a little and see what happens first. Anywhooo.

A lot of information is good, but at this rate we just skim through it which doesn't help much.

that.

It is main reason behind my vote.

In psychotherapy, we talk about two main forms in which defensive mechanism show themselves: not talking or talking too much. Similarly, in mafia game overposting is as bad as not posting at all, and has the same effect - increasing difficulty of analysing material.

Right,

now how many games on the org/cfc lately have I been the top poster?

All of them you say?

If you are consistently wrong on me, it might be a problem with your reads, and certainly something you will need to adjust in the future.

yes. I will think about such comment from you if I get it in the postgame; I know I am not good at reading others and I try to improve (or, at least, want to improve). But telling me now (when I suspect you) that I am consistently wrong on you can lead to endless WIFOM, either with me and with others reading this. Therefore, for now, I will ingore this comment.

TBH, I dont think you are scum. I dont think it about anyone.
But if for average player I see their probability of being scum around 10-15%, then for you I see this probability around 25% - it is slightly better that totaly random vote.

And there is still my second argument - too much content.

That's not a very good reason. Maybe this is your site culture, but there are other forums on which 300 posts can be achieved in an hour.

It also varies on an individual basis. For example, Visor is always a high poster, unless he's using an alt expressly for the purposes of low posting. That's not alignment indicative.

On the other hand, Cuthilius posts a lot more as town than he does as scum.

See the difference?

There's actually a common tell among high posters that they'll post less as scum. Idk what your personal experiences with high posters are, but this has been true for most high posters I know, even myself. It's hard to naturally change this behavior, which is why I also find that analyzing openings and sentence structure comparison of current games compared to past games extremely helpful for making reads.

Right,

now how many games on the org/cfc lately have I been the top poster?

not many games on org/cfc have 350+ posts in 24 hours. I am saying, there is too many posts in this game. Especially content lacking posts, like 'Hi, lets talk'. In other cases it is not a problem, I think posting level at org/cfc is not too high. But when I saw more than 15 pages to read, I got annoyed. And I still think it is too much for the first part of day 1, and the ratio of 'fluff' to 'content' is too low, even for day 1.

That's not a very good reason. Maybe this is your site culture, but there are other forums on which 300 posts can be achieved in an hour.

You are right, but you dont see fully my point.

I would never play at a site with 300 posts per day (real life one), let alone per hour.
I cannot process so much text, and - as I said above - I think so many posts and fluff hurts the game.

To be honest, discussing that further gets us nowhere. Enough people have posted that the day should (and has) shifted out of fluff mode.
