CivDiplomacy 002 (expert)

No, it's the 16th. And I need one more e-mail - for the fellow who hasn't played yet. His name escapes me - let me look...

When does the game actually start? This is getting confusing without G.M. sending emails and stuff like Flatlander did. I'd like to see a solid date and deadlines! I also want to know what country I have to play!

Or you'll end up with Austria:D.

Defense Mode here: Richard's e-mail hasn't worked worth a damn... He sent me a message that I recieved at 0130 in the morning 2 days later!

Anyway, the preference lists aren't such a big deal, most of us can play with whoever we get.

Anxiously awaiting the new start time...

Hey everyone, thanks for the patience.

My new account for game purposes is "project@canoemail.com"

I am just waiting to hear from Alphaman, and if I don't, I have one candidate to replace him and will be happy to entertain others.

Once again, I will be getting started one way or the other at 5:00pm GMT-5.

First deadline: 0001 GMT Tuesday 26th March for Spring 1901 orders.

If you are a player and did not recieve your e-mail notice, please let me know immediately at my GM account, project@canoemail.com.

Thanks,

The following results for Spring 1901 will be mailed out at approx. noon GMT-5 today. Will post maps here shortly. I apologize for delays; two sets of orders were late.

***URGENT****
***EUROPEAN DESK BULLETIN***

Chicago Tribune, March 1, 1901

By James Blaine

Efforts by Swiss negotiators to resolve growing tensions throughout Europe have clearly failed, as Russian troops boldly crossed the Austrian frontier into the province of Galicia today. Sources tell the Trib that there was no Austrian resistance to speak of - a fact that might be partly explained by the ongoing Austrian invasion of Serbia. In its second day, that invasion is showing every sign of success.

Meanwhile, adding to the air of crisis, several neutral states are being "persuaded" to pick sides in the looming European conflict. The tools of persuasion: annexation, "acts of union," or outright invasion. Holland has been absorbed into Germany. Bulgaria is now styled "Turkish Carlgaria." Spanish opportunists are said to be growing silly moustaches to appease their new French masters. And Rumanian kids are tucking into their new Russian-language textbooks. Young Sofia resident Nicolau Caucescu, aged 4, is taking it all in stride. "It's not so hard," the toddler said when asked about his first day in Russian class.

With the threat of continental conflict looming, many observers can't help but wonder aloud about the intended targets of English fleet exercises in the North Sea. Just as baffling are Italian naval movements in the Ionian Sea: is their target neutral Tunis? Or Greece? Are they moving to hold one of four adjacent strategic waterways? Or are the Italians just testing the boilers on the fearsome new dreadnought "Admiral Ricardo?"

The heinous heathens of Bulgaria have been assimilated. They are now happily smoking hash, and eating Doners...

I will spread good times and bad breath across the Balkans!

Before anyone gets excited, any typing errors are mine, not Brooksy's. His original filing, and all orders, were accurate. The map - as you can see - is adjudicated on realpolitik as per the real orders.

It's just that I had banged everything out myself on MS Word so I could carry it from my office computer on disk to my own...

So, please accept this as the "dpy is official" notice.

Hi, Civdip 002 is trolling for replacement players for:

Germany!

and

Italy!

It's only fall 1901, and neither player has made any dumb moves yet, so new players taking over these slots might as well be starting in a new game.

First two to write to me, the GM, at project@canoemail.com will be accepted. Deadlines will average about once every four days.

Must be experienced enough to be familiar with basic diplomacy rules: e.g. supports, convoys, etc. I won't be fussy about overall experience at this stage, though...

For those who want to take over a mid-sized empire in mid-game, you can always expose yourself to a whuppin' by my Italian armies in Civdip 001 - see "Avalon Hill's Diplomacy" Thread for more details.

You can reach me at calamb1@hotmail.com

P.S. DO NOT E-Mail me at my Yahoo account please, that is for my CivDip003 game...

Hello berzerker and thanks for the unexpected pleasure. I will get new details out to everyone at noon my time (GMT-5) today and the new deadline will be first thing Wednesday morning.
