[NFP] Civilization VI: Possible New Civilizations Thread

@Zegangani has recently posted a thread detailing the new tables he has found that might be used for the January Pack. In it, there is evidence that Kublai Khan could be in the game.

As seen here, it's likely that the ability is that you get a free Eureka and Inspiration for the first time a Trading Post is established in a particular Civilization. During Kublai Kahn's reign, the Silk Road was flourishing. If this is not correct, it is safe to assume that this is a Civilization associated with the Silk Road.

Yeah, "a line of code about Eureka/Inspiration from Trading Post" is a really early find, even before NFP if I recall correctly.

Welp. I'm late to the party. :p

I do agree that this could be Kublai Khan's ability. If you combine it with Mongolia's Ortoo ability it can be pretty good as all you have to do is start a trade route for a free Eureka or Inspiration.
At least it makes more sense than anything for Vietnam.

Though there is the possibility that Portugal or Iroquois could have a similar ability.

1 Civilization, 2 Leaders. Anyone have a guess which nation is coming forward?

600

I guess it will be someone from Asia or Africa.

I doubt it's an Africa pack. We already had Ethiopia in the July Pack. :p It's most likely Asia, and the March Pack might just be a North American Civ.

Leaks have suggested Kublai Khan and Vietnam as being in the pack, although it could .0001% a red herring, who knows?

Also, I don't think this is the right forum to put this Thread. Perhaps General Discussions instead of Ideas and Suggestions?

I'm 99% sure it's not a red herring at this point considering all the info we've found about monopolies, industries and corporations that seem to fit with an alternative economy game mode we found along with Kublai Khan and Vietnam.

Me too. I'll just edit the comment to make it right.

Can't be Vietnam because it will be 1 civilization with 2 leaders

One of the new leaders requires the R&F expansion. That means it has to be another leader for a R&F civ which looks to be Kublai Khan for Mongolia with the other leader going to Vietnam.

It is long been leaked that the Jan 2021 Pack is about "Vietnam & Kublai" and the "alternative economy mode".

The content of the leak had been posted in this very thread as well (albeit very hard to find since it was about 300 pages before).

Kublai Khan as a leader for China is not going to go down well in Beijing. It would be about as sensitive as having Tibet as a civ. If thy do bring on Kublai for Mongolia, I hope he will be able to decree a stately pleasure dome, where Alph the Sacred River ran, down to a sunless sea.

Stately pleasure dome - a replacement for the entertainment district. Must be built adjacent to a river.

I... doubt that Stately Pleasure Domes actually existed, considering it was from a poem made by Samuel Taylor Coleridge, an English poet in the 18th century, and considering it all came to him in a dream. :P

If Kublai is released as leader of Mongolia, they could add a second free DLC to the steam shop unlocking him as leader of China (but dependent on the other DLC).

Gore is locked behind DLC for Total War games, and Hitler is censored in Germany's version of Hearts of Iron. The just released Twisted and the Twilight DLC for Warhammer adds an extra character if you own a specific previous DLC.

Not saying this is likely or not, just pointing out there's a work around if it is considered a significant issue in a specific market.
