Not all of Arizona is desert though such as Flagstaff.I mean, Dubai has one without the mountain so it's not that unrealistic.Plus there are ski resorts in Arizona.

I know. I was born in Flagstaff. Not all of Arizona is desert though such as Flagstaff.![]()
Cinnamon and/or cardamom with rose water is the way to go with hot chocolate.Coffee is overrated. Give me some fresh cacao seeds, roasted and ground with hot water and a bit of cayenne!
Yet there is also Mt. Lemmon in Tucson, which is very much surrounded by desert. Arizona is weird, third most biodiverse and ecologically diverse state in the contiguous U.S. based on rough estimates (behind California/Texas and California/Washington, respectively). And California and Texas practically don't count, given that Texas is over twice as big as most other states and both span over 750 miles in length, while Arizona and Washington are in the 350-400 range.
Arizona and Washington also happen to be my two biggest hotspots for hopeful new civs in North America.![]()
Chiefly what the Salish have going for them is a well-known leader in Seattle. Otherwise there are quite a few other PNW tribes whose cultures were more sophisticated than theirs, like the Nuu-chah-nulth/Makah, Kwakwaka'wakw, Tsimshian, or Haida. I just want to hear Sean Bean try to pronounce Kwakwaka'wakw. Or maybe I don't.I’m fine with any PNW tribe. Inarguably, the tlingit and salish have the most going for them, but the Portlander in me wants to see the Chinook.

Logically, the Haida would be the best option, but clearly they’ve had some hiccups with the Haida, which is why the Cree were added instead. The Tlingit are the next best option imo.Chiefly what the Salish have going for them is a well-known leader in Seattle. Yeah. I would have put the Haida, Tlingit, and Tsimshian on more or less the same level.Logically, the Haida would be the best option, but clearly they’ve had some hiccups with the Haida, which is why the Cree were added instead. The Tlingit are the next best option imo.
I generally consider the Interior Northwest/Plateau as distinct from the Pacific Northwest as the culture and lifestyle was quite different; in particular, the further east you go on the Plateau the more like the Plains it looks--see the Blackfoot, Cayuse, and so forth.the Chinook had a really interesting culture as well, and were geographically further away from the cluster that you’ve mentioned.
Theoretically "Tokimune," "Qin," and "Jayavarman" shouldn't be hard to say either...Kwakwaka’wakw doesn’t seem too hard to say, just to type though...
I'd love to see the Goths. You know, in my summary the other day, I forgot to mention the Goths. I do see them as a real possibility for either a Final Frontier civ or a Civ 7 XP.

I think they're already in the Red Death.I'd love to see the Goths.

Theodoric or Alaric I would be great.Unless you mean the historical Goths. Theodoric would be interesting.
Yeah. I would have put the Haida, Tlingit, and Tsimshian on more or less the same level.

I think they are a very strong dark horse candidate. The most popular mod civ for V on steam, easy iconic candidate in Theoderic could lead unified Gothic kingdoms. Perhaps boring mechanically, but definitely the most organized of the European barb groups.
I still imagine we are more likely to get Portugal and Italy though. Which, hey, if we can have the Goths and Italic/Hispanic civs, maybe there is hope for Byzantium and Bulgaria.

I have no idea who would lead them, but I've wondered if the Hopi or Zuni might be more amenable to inclusion than the Tewa were. Then again, I'd be surprised if Firaxis tried again after being rebuffed by the Tewa.
i mean Chinook isn’t an interior group: they spanned from jsut north of the tillamook to modern day Portland and Mt. Hood.
Culturally they’re different from the strictly coastal nations like Haida and Tlingit but they aren’t fully unrelated and I’d still consider them a PNW tribe

As much as I want Italy, I don't see why Portugal should get shafted and always be compared to Spain. It was different from Spain in Civ 5 so I'm sure it will be in Civ 6.I prefer Italy if Portugal is going to go in the same direction as Spain; no direction at all. The pueblo and their adobe houses would be a fun way to survive in the desert. A pithouse/adobe complex could work similar to the cree and provide bonus food/production if adjacent to bonus resources. We would need more desert resources, and a unique mesa terrain would be nice
