[NFP] Civilization VI: Possible New Civilizations Thread

Fun scenario:

We get Italy and two replacement city-states for Bologna and Venice. :p

I like the both the idea of Italy led by Matilda and Cherokee led by Nanheyi. At this point, after Lady Trieu I think the rules could be bent a little for figures like Matilda.

If I'm honest, the only way to somewhat appease the general fans with the final civ choice would be either making it 1) a returnee or 2) a Venice-like asymetrical extravaganza. Personally, I hope it's Portugal with both 1) and 2).

I'd be fine with Portugal being asymmetrical. Next season. :P

Well obviously he can't confirm anything officially on his own whim and we've had the discussion before about how this pressure of "You said that, that must mean this, are you confirming it?" isn't really inspiring for FXS employees to stay discussing here. Speculating what they did is one thing, trying to toss them into the speculation off-guard is another. He may at best tell you he'd personally like both NA and Portugal in Civ6 as person, which really hardly proves anything official.
I was just hoping he would like my post as a ambiguous joke

I know you probably didn't mean it literally but Portugal being able to annex a city-state in to their empire if they are the suzerain, and previously built a Feitoria in their borders, isn't too crazy and out there. :mischief:

I am hoping against hope not to have Portugal. Haudenosaunee please. Or any Native American or African civ.

With this debate we're having about whether an NA Civ or Portugal should be the last Civ, it seems that some of us forgot that mods exist... While it is nice to have your wanted Civ to be an official Civ, in the long run, does it really matter that much? Just a rhetorical question.

Anyway, my personal hope is that an NA Civ gets into Civ 6 this March. We'll see, though.

Edit: Turns out most people can't/don't use mods. Bother...

It matters to players like me who play on the Switch and are SOL with mods. I hope Nintendo changes their stance on mods but I'm not holding my breath.

Right... Forgot that Nintendo didn't support mods. Oops.

Considering I don't really use mods, I'd much rather a civ be official. It's just personal preference but the official leaders more or less blend in with all the others better than modded ones. I know there are exceptions though, and I don't want to sound like I'm offending modders either.

I see your point... Yeah, that makes sense. Agree to disagree?

Well I'll agree that some probably look better than Gandhi. :mischief:

Of course once all the official civs exist if there are mods of ones I want like Italy, Assyria, Navajo etc. I might want to look in to it and check them out.

Is it really so difficult to imagine that: FXS releases NA civ in March as NFP Pack and thereafter Portugal with April patch for all players for free as the final gift?

I think they would have announced it, even if it was free, in the same way that they announced beforehand that people buying the entirety of the NFP would have the two new personas for CdM and Teddy.

So... yeah I'd say it is quite difficult to imagine, but not impossible.

I can’t sleep because the hype is real...so...slogging through the list of Civs in my attempt to look at which Civs they found worthy of past games...I stumbled upon the rightfully tone deaf Civ IV: Colonization...

Which had a few Native American Civs of note:
• Tupi
• Arawak
• Cherokee
• and Apache

And through my rabbit hole I’m wondering why no one has ever really mentioned Lozen (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lozen) she’s got quite the following

I do also enjoy that Colonization also hinted at their interest with Simón Bolívar (as the leader of “New Spain”)

Oh, and Genoa in the base code of VI makes it worthy of inclusion for possibility (like how “Arabs” and “Incas” weren’t implemented in II or how Austria didn’t quite make it into III) wouldn’t that be a wild pick?

Portugal would be a nice goodbye present, but goshdarnit, we don’t need another European

I feel if we ever got an Apache civ it would fill like a missed opportunity not to have Geronimo as the leader.

That being said I think the next civ will be returning considering the first wave of DLC only had 3 new civs (Australia, Macedon, and Nubia), and we just got our third new one with Vietnam. Not to mention to keep the cycle going we need another female leader.
I think Portugal and Iroquois are the best options with well Portugal being at a 90% chance. Iroquois 9%. 1% chance of other.

I guess there is always the possibility of Sayyida al Hurra leading Morocco. :mischief:

No, that's different. CdM and Teddy personas weren't for free. These have been announced to sell the pre-launch NFP so they had to announce them. The final gift would be just a gift.

Same, though Sukiract's are amazing from what i've seen

Yep. His Leader animations, while they obviously aren't official, can fool a person new to the game. They are so good.
