I want to be in any game - including replacement player !!! - PM me

Since we just gotten Octafish off the ground and everyone is engaged, why not make it a twofer? Same set up and game configuration, same players, we just recieve, play and send two turns at once?

Anagram of Octafish is Tacofish, which would make a fine name for a second game afaik.

I don't mind starting a game for you, but there is a slight problem here.

Whoever starts the game goes first, with no chance to hand the save to the next person.

So, there would be two options only:

- I play the first turn, and then someone takes it over on the second turn, but having to live with my starting choices.

- I play the first turn, then the 'real' players follow. On my second turn, I retire my tribe to ai and duck out - which is fine if everyone wants ai in the game.

I would like to be involved in the above mentioned game (although, if there is any FFH/FFHMod games, I would love to be in those). I'm new to PBEM, but not to Civ4 (although, I don't imagine there are many people that post here any more that are new to Civ4).
I'm open to taking the spot of bathseba, if desired/necessary.
I'm in US, MDT.

There is a funny way to avoid this issue. Just start the game and when it asks for the password of the first player -- kill BTS. Go to your PBEM Saves folder, chose Auto Saves folder and there you will find file named Initial Save something... Post it in thread or email to the actual owner and he is ready to go.

"Redofish" may be in need of a permanent replacement now + a substitute later this month.

Early in game, few civs have even met yet. Post if interested.

Hi kenwyn, i meant "join" a new PBEM
I also prefer straight up but i have really no previous experience in PBEM. Only played multiplayer in GameSpy

HBHR... welcome again. PBEM is definitely a different animal than multi online playing.
Like going from cheetah speed to turtle speed. BUT you get to THINK about your turn(s) & all the nuances & possibilities.
Don't know of any NEW games forming at this time. Most of us here are already involved in several games (due to slow turnaround times, we tend to keep several going).

I'm relatively new this Civ4 PBEM also. Was able to get in at the start of a good one(Octafish) & then started a very similiar one (Redofish) so we'd have more play action opportunities.

Thru doing just as U R doing, i was able to step into a couple of good but S-L-O-W games as a replacement for a player that was cutting back.

You can always start a post for a new game & see if others may be interested & have the time to join in. Tho if U go this route, be sure to have a mentor or someone in the group that's started & run a game before, since getting it going has several steps that must be done correctly. After it's up & running it self-manages thru the use of these threads & the excellent "PBEM Tracker" that couple of generous players & programmers put together for everyone's ease-of-play & tracking.

MOST important is be aware of the l-o-n-g play times due to everyone's RL(real life) commitments. But that's part of what makes a nice balance to the fast-&-furious online stuff.
