You need it for the wonders.
 
Confucius/Buddhist/Taoist temples give one gold for each passing foreign unit. True story.

Edit: should restrict it to China though.

It seems that I always lose rolls below 90%. Maybe I haven't sacrificed a young child um, lamb, wait, I'm vegetarian, I meant tofu lamb to the RNGods recently enough...

I could really use that... I've lost 99.5% battles, and once lost a 99.1% battle without doing any damage.
 
New Civ: Islamic State

Starts in 2000 as the al-Qaeda, becomes Islamic State of Iraq and Sham when one city obtained, becomes Islamic State when three cities obtained.

Starting location: 2E of Syria, with a small stack of their unique unit, one settler and anti-air guys. They also start at war with all existing civilizations.

Civ colour: Black

UP: Power of the Ummah
-Every city that has Islam in it gives you:
1 bonus commerce
1% chance for your unique unit to spawn in one of your cities.
As a consequence, their territory has a little bit of every culture that has a city with Islam in it.

UU: Mujahideen (Replaces Infantry)
Unit without nationality, like the privateer.
Each one under your control gives you a small amount of espionage points per turn.

UB: Build Islamic Propaganda (Replaces build culture, commerce and science)
Increase the boost of your Unique power for every ten hammers a city has.

Meaning with ten total hammers, your unique power gives you 2 bonus commerce and 2% chance for unique unit for every city with Islam. With twenty, you get 3 bonus commerce and 3% chance and so on.

(Not yet)Historical victories:
-Take control of Baghdad and As-Sur by 2015.
-Get all civs within Iberia, North and West Africa, Arabia, the Balkans, the Caucasus and India to adopt your civics and religion, or conquer these areas yourself.
-Take control of Rome by 2030 AD.

I actually do not think this is a bad idea. Too bad this mod doesn't cover the late modern era well.
 
If I had some initiative I'd probably mod it in. It would be an exciting late game, or if you're not playing them you could make it so that they would automatically win of not defeated within X turns so that each person has to eliminate the civ.
 
A unique building that replaces building culture, science, or commerce is a great idea.
 
Brazil gets a unique unit called Neymar. He can defend and cover any part of brazil not covered by Rain Forest, and as long as the enemy isnt Prussia. Instead, if Prussia, he must sit out of combat, and his side lose 7 units for every 1 they take out if he's in the stack.
 
=(. And people say I'm offensive. That's like having a British UP where every 4 turns you can't do anything because of a tea break.
