Battle of Kingston
Partisans raining arrows upon the confused Viking ranks, causing them to charge without formation. Militia divisions with Slicer Spears stand by while the National Army to the left of them, armed with swords, are ready to iniciate a counter charge.
The Battle of Kingston, outside of London, was a turning point of the Brittanian theater. This is the first defeat of the Vikings and the First victory of the Partisans, trained archers armed with the Partisan Hand ax and masters of survival.
The Battle first started when a Partisan Unit rained arrows upon the retreating Vikings from a ridge. Now called Gurdy Hill, the Vikings charged, forcing the Partisans to retreat while calling for support. Within hours 25,000 Vikings faced about 14,000 Miltiamen, 9,000 Partisans and 9,000 men National Army. They had burned the trees on the ridge and forced them to station on the lower ridge now known as Harvaldson Ridge. The other 4 thousand Vikings are holding London Proper facing 4 thousand Militiamen and a thousand Partisan/National Army units.
With 25k Vikings against 32k Associated Union troops and holding the upper ground, they might have won this close contest. However, the tide was turned by the Trifia Arrows of the Partisans.
Raining down on the Vikings of up to 15 arrows a minute per archer. Over 3 thousand of them were killed as they tried to regroup. We don't know which viking's oath started it, but suddenly the remainder charged, down the hill they ran, arrows flying behind them for a few moments until they start hitting again. Up the hill they went, unleashing their own weaker arrows just before the two lines hit.
The Militia lines groaned as the vikings chopped their way through, they want their revenge. That is when the Partisans countercharged. In the close battle, their hand axes are more useful than the Great Ax of the Viking; more useful than the Raiding Spear of the Dani. Slicing through a few ranks they gave the National Army room to flank the large Viking army. Marching back a few steps they resumed unleasing arrows of death into the front lines.
The Vikings, with most of their experianced leaders killed on the front and their officers on the flanks, broke for a second. The Union Commander order a unconditional charge as hundreds of hundreds of Union Troops broke into them. Broken, they use their strengh to run.
This victory places the Viking Command at london in great risk, they retreated to the hills outside and for now, are trying to replace their numbers as their supply dwindles.
