Croatia votes on EU Membership

Croats to the rescue. I really see this as a positive catalyst for the Euro.

Nah I'll wear this

Rasist

I thought the Serbs say we are Turks and they are Russian Gypsies?

The Serbs can say what they like. My independent and thus objective AngloSaxon credentials suggest that Bosniaks are Muslim Serbs who's dialect is somewhat influenced by Turkish in the same way as their religion itself has been.

BiH is quite a humorous country, its army particularly so. An army without a people. It should have been partitioned into three parts, but the war made the situation far more complicated and stupid.

Preliminary results show 66.7% in favor of joining the Union.

Whats so racist? Our dialect is different not because of the Ottomans (Turks), we had a different writing system (Bosnacica) way before the Turks. And I always thought that nation is a subjective term I mean look at the US they all say they are Americans, it doesn't mater if they're hispanic, black, mormon, polish descent...

I agree with the army being useless. But why partition it? Would you partition Croatia, would you release Srpska Krajina?

That Nazi hat (which is so because it is adorned with worldwide acknowledged Nazi iconography).

Yeah they all say they are Americans. Serbs and Croats do not think they are Bosniaks. They think they are Serbs and Croats, and belong in Serb and Croat countries. It's the right to self-determination which allowed BiH to break away from Yugoslavia in the first place. By keeping Respublika Srpska and the Croatians of Herzeg-Bosnia trapped within BiH, BiH is no better than Yugoslavia, is it? By threatening war over their secession, they are taking the exact path that Yugoslavia took; the exact path Bosnia fought against.

Although I'm against carving up Europe much more than it is, I think that in BiH's case, overall unity and integration with the rest of Europe will only be hurt by remaining intact in one very unhappy relationship with its populous.

Sure, if the populous of the lands of Srpska Krajina wished that to be so. Though Serbs do not constitute a majority in any of those lands anymore, as far as I'm aware.

1. Come on its not the Einsatzgruppen and the Us annd 4C's (S's) are also racist

2. If we went around by your logice the Balkans and much of Africa would look like swiss cheese. Bosniak Bosnia would want Sandzak which is populated by Muslims but part of Serbia, but its not connected to the Bosniak Bosnia, but the Serb Bosnia would have to be shrunk to at least 40% so its even by the population odds, and what about cities that have a 50/50 odds and the Croat claim on Herzeg Bosna is absurd they're at max 15% of our population yet they want a huge amount of land much of which they dont own. And than you have Vojvodina or Banat, Montenegran Sandzak, Serb Kosovo, Bulgarian Macedonia, Greece Macedonia... I say we leave it as it is, but fix Bosnia by using the American principle, no Serb or Croat or Bosniak but all are Bosnian.

3. Ya Oluja cleaned that but still they ahve a claim on a sizeable piece of land. But its easy for you to say as a foreigner but it wouldn't be so easy for a croat.

2/3 in favour of membership, anti-EU forces fail as usual. But we better admit new members soon, 28 is such an ugly number.

Ya, and the holocaust never happened.

Wha'?

As I see it, the only "nation" in Bosnia are the Muslims/Bosniaks or whatever you call yourselves. Well then, have your state if you want, but why drag the Croats and the Serbs with you?

I say the best solution is still a unified Serbo-Croat state with Bosnia as a part of it, but that's unthinkable now, which is such a pity.

I was sarcastic.

Because we dont want a Bosniak state we want a Bosnian state with the current Bosnian borders, the Croats fixed that problem with Oluja in their country.

Well yeah, but if the others (=Serbs) don't want to participate, what right do you have to force them? Hypothetically, I know that our talking about it won't change a thing.

And it's on-topic because until you solve that mess, no EU membership is possible for Bosnia.

The same right they have to force our land from us, note that land is garunteed ours, it has been for centuries and we cannot afford the loss of it, also they're a minority, we're 50+% while the servs are around 30%

We already discussed this before so lets not step on the Balkan nationalism mine, its Croatias night.

The news are saying that 95% of the ballots have been counted, the American ones are left.

Okay, but Kosovo needs to rejoin Serbia then.

Who cares what the Americans think?

About which state down there was this thread exactly about?

ontopic: Better Croatia in there than Bulgaria or Romania. Croatia is better developed than the 2 others, so I don't think it will have a negative impact.
Will be good for the tourism down there, and easier for our tourists.

Kosovo was a separate "province" within Serbia and only became part of Serbia following 1913 1st Balkan War

Croatian efficiency in the ethnic cleansing department is nothing to boast, dawg.

1. That land is guaranteed yours against the very same right to self-determination that is refused to the Respublika Srpska residents.

2. Your majority status is true throughout BiH, but not in Respublika Srpska itself. Wouldn't it be better to have a state where your % is higher? Where 50+% and ~30% and 15% of the country don't rabidly hate each other? Besides which, RS is a fully-fledged administrative unit in of itself, so it becoming independent from BiH would have minimal consequences.

Okay, but Kosovo needs to rejoin Serbia then.

I won't accept my government's recognition of Kosovo until it also recognizes the independence of Transnistra, Artsakh, and Somaliland. :)

The thread is about Croatia, but the direction it strayed is rather relevant to the original topic of the thread.

Kosovo was a separate "province" within Serbia and only became part of Serbia following 1913 1st Balkan War

But it was also the homeland of the Serbian state pre-Ottomans. Pristina, the capital of Kosovo, had for centuries been an important Serb city and the capital of their state. It's kinda like when Poland snatched Vilnius from Lithuania in the post-WWI mess. In fact, it's exactly like that.

It's not even a nation, it's three (dead)locked in one arbitrary country. It shouldn't even exist.

All because Bosniaks are with so few. Should be divided between Serbia and Croatia. Problem is that the country is still volatile matter we better not touch. If only Yugoslavia didn't break up and it could be prevented in some way.
