Crusader Kings 2

It's $9.99 on Steam for the next 15 hours. But I'll hold off on buying it until I can get some bundle back with the cheap DLC.

What are we meant to do if a random count or duke starts a faction for independence or to lower crown authority?

It's not like plots where I can simply constantly nag them to stop plotting, no, I have to sit there waiting for them to jump me, I can't even imprison them without incurring infamy, and I don't really fancy massive civil wars (in which everyone else who's not part of the realm attacks my vassals and I have to rush putting down the revolts otherwise the rebel scum gets annexed by some other dude).
Plot killing the faction leader.

Or assassinate, but that's a really bad option without loading.

And make sure other dukes like you more than him.

What actually happened was ahistorical. :3

:mischief:

Anyhow, I just played my first LoR game, which ended hilariously poorly for me and the Byzantines.

Basically, as a Byzantine count, I witnessed the Byzantine Empire get teamed up by both the Seljuks and the Fatimids, resulting in the Byzantine Empire being essentially split between the two. Thankfully, I managed to survive since I just conquered Malta. I swore fealty to the Duke of Sicily... wherein Sicily was promptly steamrolled in a Fatimid Jihad for Sicily, a Jihad which even the Holy Roman Empire was unable to fight against, resulting in game over.

Conclusions: the Fatimids are still too powerful (or their enemies too weak, whatever you prefer), Jihads still go in ridiculous places, and Fatimids Doomstacks > HRE Doomstacks.

Now it's time to play another game outside of Byzantium and see what sort of hilarity ensues in Byzantium.

Fatimids need player intervention to not murder everything in a thousand mile radius in the first 200 years. The only problem with that is I don't like fighting in the freakin desert.

This faction system is really making my old saves very difficult

Does it break them? I have a game with a custom count -> duke that is pretty sweet right now, don't want to mess it up.

Woah, I thought it was $5?

I might pick it up now if it were that price or cheaper. I'm planning on playing more KSP and finishing up some other saves first, though, I have too many games going at once.

From what I've read on the PI forums, it doesn't break games, but it may change the situation drastically - or it might not - so be careful.

It doesn't break them just makes it difficult, with your vassals banding together to pursue a goal like lowering crown authority or in my cause attempting to oust my current king of Lithuania in favour of his second son ruining my chance at uniting Lithuania and Sweden.

If that's the case then I definitely want to revert plots back to their former, glorious state. My save started in freakin' Spring, I already have to put up with a blob of nothing in Italy.

However, mega-campaigns are a much-beloved topic on the Paradox forums, so it's entirely possible that you will find a way, either in the future or by cludging something together now.

There are fan-made converters for each step in that chain, I believe. CK2->EU3 has some weirdness though, and for EU3->V2 you can't really use most map mods, leaving you stuck with the default.

Is it possible of making sort of a "mega campaign", I mean, playing CKII (with muslims), then EUIII DW, then Vicky II and finally Hearts of IronIII? If it's possible, i will "buy" them all of them today!

Here's one for CK2 -> EU3 on reddit.

Take your lack of business elsewhere, Paradox is a hardworking studio that deserves your money.

If I had more money you know I will do that.

Exactly my point.

Steam sales and Amazon deathbundles are cheap and frequent enough to rarely if ever get a game from any other source, unless neither of them have it, in which case you will obviously go to GOG.
