Crusader Kings 2

Arabic isn't native to Persia though, it only came with the Muslims. They still mostly speak Farsi in Iran, which is descended from ancient Persian languages.

Port Said wasn't founded until the mid-1800s and the name was chosen by Europeans after the name of the King of Egypt at that time (who was, obviously, Muslim).

That makes it an early Arabic import then. It's only a "Muslim" name (at best) if used in a country where Arabic isn't native and even then I'd say it's simply an Arabic name.

Muslim isn't a language. Arabic is the language of Islam and the language the Qur'an is written in (indeed, the Qur'an is still written in old Arabic, so students have to learn both old Arabic and modern Arabic/whatever other language they speak). It wasn't until more recent times it was widely translated.

Calling something is a "Muslim name" is the same as calling it an "Arabic name".

If you would go to Bosnia for example, the language there is Slavic in origin. However since they are Muslim, they use Muslim (Arabic) names such as Faruk, Mohammed, Samir, Emir etc... even though the vast majority don't speak Arabic or even a language that's somewhat close to Arabic. Same story in Albania except they speak Albanian.
Muslim can also be used to describe cultures as even Atheist Muslims (So ancestors were Muslim) still retain some Muslim traditions.

I knew Republics were strong, but I was curious how strong. So I decided to stack the deck by tweaking the 1066 start ever so slightly - I made the Duchy of Adrianopolis (in the ERE) held by a Lollard (Catholic heresy) Republic ruler vassalized to the Byzantine Emperor, then started conquering stuff. August 10, 1241, total global conquest (without even once having to press someone's claim to a title, if it wasn't my own claim). The first two Mongol invasions are down and out, and by the time the Timurids show up I expect I'd be up to almost 200k Cataphracts in my retinue.

That particular screenshot is taken from a couple days later, the last save I have - I console-killed my previous leader to see if things would get interesting on the succession.
On realizing that the answer was no, they wouldn't, I just abandoned the game. There's really no conceivable way I could end up with a rebellion at this point unless I deliberately provoke one. Born in the Purple, Augustus, plenty of gold for bribes, no need to have high taxes or levies (what am I going to use them for?), no Catholic leaders, a huge empire meaning plenty of selection for a high-diplomacy wife and a high-diplomacy chancellor, the ability to Designate Heir to pick which one succeeds me...

Guess converting that to an EUIII game would be... interesting.

That is pretty stunning, I'll admit. :)

The current progress in my Wales game (started at Stamford Bridge as the count of Perfeddwlad in Gwynedd):

I haven't played Wales yet, but it seems like it would be incredibly difficult unless England's always in civil war.
