I just realized I'm asking these questions about gender when my own language has always had these answers, El molino de agua, is clearly a male entity.
I'm sorry, Leoreth, but this part of the revelation did not reach the german language. It's just like you guys believing the Sun is a her, when it's clearly a dude called El sol (and the moon is female, yes, la luna is female).

No, uhm, I actually had to research that. The word "molina" is not in the dictionary, but it is a place in Spain (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Molina_de_Aragón); I'm guessing the last name refers to it.
As a fun fact, there's plenty of words like these in spanish:
La puerta (the door) vs El puerto (the port)
La mora (the berry) vs El moro (the moor)
La foca (the seal) vs El foco (the lightbulb)
La raya (the line) vs El rayo (the lightning)
La dicha (the joy) vs El dicho (the saying)
La banca (the bench) vs El banco (the bank)
La golfa (the slut) vs El golfo (the gulf)
La cuenta (the account) vs El cuento (the tale)
... and so on
Even weirder:
La mañana (the morning) vs El mañana (the tomorrow)

Dutch is better in this aspect. It still has a division between 'neutral' and 'male/female' articles, but none between male/female. Leading to the ridiculous situation where you can not possibly know as a foreigner whether a word is male or female but still get weird looks when you use it wrong, since we do have sexes for most commonly used words.

That doesn't mean they don't have genders though; Russian and Latin make heavy use of genders.

New commit improving Japan's yields is the step in the right direction. But while we are on this, why don't we expand small island resource rule on any island on the map. This will benefit/will introduce some city placement diversity for Japan, UK, Indonesia. This way rules will be more logical and coherent -- why do we allow cities on small islands to benefit from resources, while bigger islands cannot enjoy the same thing?
I think some of these islands cause problems. Like Southampton (city on the cow 1SE of London) is a better city location than London because it allows for the 3 good cities in core (Southampton, Newcastle, Inverness) and avoids a useless Plymouth.
I think Indonesia benefits from this already. Like on the island of Java or something. But maybe half yield for settling on a resource might be an idea for the future?

It's been changed to only be that way for islands that are no larger than 5 tiles.

They actually beeline Military Science and Military Tradition, but they develop poorly because they don't research econ techs with the exception of the Gold related ones.
This can be rectified by changing Nobunaga's flavors.
New commit:
- new first Japanese goal: have 18000 culture in cities with 90% Japanese culture in 1600 AD
- new Japanese UP: Modernization: On entering a new era, technologies spread from civilizations with Open Border agreements
- Himeji Castle does not increase pillage yield anymore
- reduced Himeji Castle base culture to +4
- Himeji Castle provides +1 culture for every fully fortified unit in the city
- Farms on Rice now give +2 food
With the new UP, Japan receives a tech if three civs they have OB with have it. The AI does not require OBs to benefit from the effect.
