How is the 1st turkish UHV suppossed to work?

Constantinople has one Wonder (Theodosian Walls, Hagia Sophia does not count). Blue Mosque and Topkapi can mostly be built. But what is the 4th Wonder?

Opera house as a national Wonder does not count.

Red Fort and Sankore may be possible, but are often build before by arabs or mughals and would both be very unhistorical.

leaning tower is an easy pick if you have marble, control baghdad and build it.

I think I read some youtien strategy where you capture a decent city with wonders and build a palace there to move capital.

These are both viable strategies, but seem a bit unhistoric for an historic victory condition. Shouldn't there be a possibility to fulfill it with Istanbul/Constantinople and "turkish" wonders?

At least on Regent, emperor/paragon is another thing.

uhv's are not intended to be completely historical, they just share the same direction with the real historical achievements. Istanbul had 3 wonders in reality, but it would be an easy goal for the player to complete 3 wonders that no one competes, so it's 4 in the mod.
Additionally, if you are playing with a 3000 bc roll, Babylon usually has few useful wonders and a decent production that can be useful. Instead of building a palace in Istanbul just build one in the Babylon.

recently i rearly see babylon even with more than 2 wonders which arent obsolete. They are hanging gardens which doesnt go obsolete the whole game, sphynx in some games which gets obsolete with turkish spawn, and pyramids which gets obsolete also, so basicly out of 3 wonders that Babylon usually builds 1 is actually usable, same as Constantinople. The good thing about it is that Babylon has way more production in the early game than Constantinople and is the city that i get the wonders in.

Also i wanna ask how do you guys manage to get 3 wonders on normal speed in any city ? It seems REALLY impossible to me, 2 is doable but quite hard, but 3, i ve actually never managed to build 3 for the period 1280(actually even later becouse it takes a few turns to get babylon) till 1550 ? I guess 3 - spiral minaret , topkapi palace and sankore if by a miracle they arent build from anyone , which happens once out of 10 games probably. Not to mention that you have to compeate with the Mughals and Delhi has more production/growth(for engeneers) than Babylon... I usually dont have problems tech wise for the wonders and rearly i have problems with production, but Mughals tend to steal them alot from me.



I kinda want to support for changing the UHV to 3 wonders, which makes it whole lot easier in most of the spawns, but 4 is what makes the UHV challenging....

build one wonder that no one competes with you normally, while istanbul grows. Work an engineer specialist while building it and use it to rush another useful wonder (I usually go for the san marco basilica). for the third, whip the leaning tower with slavery; it's an easy wonder to finish.

edit: I'm not sure about the leaning tower strategy in current svn, it might requires catholic state religion in current revision.

yeah but that strategy involves changing to christianity to construct the wonders, is that mandatory ?

I was using this strategy for old versions, if now it requires religion change, it seems uhv is quite hard at the moment

Random requests:

- Minuteman is so very worse compared to the Redcoats they face. Why not the gunpowder bonus instead?
- Defensive unique units really dont fit the bill. Thinking about China and India. Why not give China a unique spearman instead to fight all those barbarians.
- South Africa should be the next new civ, if any. They fill out an action hole in the map.
- Tibet doesnt do much. Cant we exchange them for another China civ?
- Indias unique building is an obelisque while they start with a state religion, thats just mean.
- University build bonus for Public welfare happens when all the universities are already built.

Absolutely not. For that we have England and the Netherlands. There's enough civs already, in fact too many I would argue.

Hm, no independent Tibet, but two Chinas. The CPC is gonna have mixed feelings about this.

I've got some feedback playing on SVN 1000. I know that some of this won't be corrected before release but maybe you'll include it in your to-do list. Unfortunately, I don't have any screenshots/crash reports.
1) The early civs get easily a diplomatic crisis which deteriorates their relations with a civ if the first leader they meet is not Pleased by default.
2) On the other hand, very often you get a message saying that your relations with another civ have deteriorated which is actually not true.
3) Zoroastrianism is founded in Shushan, not in Parsa.
4) I don't remember exactly, when were the free barbarian victories removed?
5) I've got a CTD during the autoplay as Ethiopia. (Un)fortunately, it wasn't repeatable.
6) The old "Rome has declared war on" bug is still here.
7) Why should Tibet fight Barbarian Tibetan Swordsmen?
8) What does the "Send Inquisition" resolution mean?
9) Another old bug: in the 600 AD scenario the Viking units in the galley start with 0 moves.
10) The Viking capital in the 600 AD scenario is almost always in Denmark.
11) On the other hand, I haven't seen Qart-Hadasht on its location. There is a Phoenician city a few tiles away, that's why Phoenicia doesn't become Carthage.
12) Does Turkey start with Spies now or was it a lucky flip?
13) I've got the city ruins bug as Iran. It couldn't be fixed until it's fixed itself after the revolt has finished.
14) Netherlands and Canada should probably start with some ships and Workboats.
15) Inca (and Aztec, if I'm not mistaken) start in the Classical era but don't get the "You've entered the Classical era!" message. The Industrial civs get two messages (Renaissance, Industrial).
16) The Aztec short name changes to Mexico. It creates confusion.
17) Peru/Bolivia after respawn get the "Kingdom of Cuzco" name, Mexico and Colombia get a Maya/Aztec name. It changes to a normal one later, though.
18) There lots of messages which say that you've got a crisis but don't explain the consequences (if there are any).
19) Respawned civs sometimes don't require to press the "End turn" to end the turn.
20) Some leaders don't have greetings.
21) Some have wrong diplo music.
22) Colonial civs are too stable in the 1700 AD scenario.
23) The "Dawn of a Civilization" window doesn't appear in the later scenarios until the spawn.
24) I remember you saying there are no more wars on spawn for humans. Well, there are both when you spawn and when another civ spawns.

One minor, though reasonable suggestion: we don't have the possibility of getting 1 FREE GREAT STATESMANafter researching certain tech first - possibly to be the first to research Democracy? One can use it for reform the government (by the time you research Democracy, one usually wants to change outdated civics) / build administrative center (in case one has a large colonial empire).
