In the 50s/60s Ireland had massive emigration. Young people left the country en masse, mostly to England. A lot of people who would be in their 70s/80s today don't exist (in Ireland) because their would-be parents left the country before they were born.
Later, Ireland's economy improved and people started to stay and foreigners immigrate into the country. That's why the younger parts of Ireland's age pyramid are fuller.
Probably stuff like massive use of leaded fuel and paint, asbestos and all the other fancy compounds. Add in some athmospheric nuclear tests, Vietnam war (agent orange) and the great leap forward.

I met my gf on tinder but for the most part it was a very disheartening experience
If I had to be single again no way I'd use dating apps unless I was in a foreign country or I'd just hire someone for $20/month to manage my profile for me (generic banter w matches) with the aim to port tinder convos to text and would only engage once they got to text.
Perhaps already AI apps to do this.
I feel bad for young guys these days who base their self-esteem on these types of experiences. Understanding the data can help.
About 59% of all species on Earth live in soil, estimate researchers who reviewed global biodiversity data. This would make the ground the planet’s single most biodiverse habitat. The figure doubles an earlier estimate and could be even higher because so little is known about soil, the researchers suggest. It is home to 99% of Enchytraeidae worms, 90% of fungi, 86% of plants and more than 50% of bacteria — but only 3% of mammals live in it.
