"Victoria" is before I conquer Daibul-India, with the granadiers near the city.
"Victoria AD 1227..." is after I've conquered the city and all flags are green.

Hello Leoreth,
I've playing with the Spanish a couple of games, and I would like to share my impressions.
The third condition (no protestan civ in Europe) is very funny, and force you to have wars and try to invade Britain (which is always great :-))
Good to hear!

THe second condition (10 silver or gold) I think is almost impossible: you have to settle in non historical location (like south africa), and even this you cann't reach the requeriment as there isn't enough resources...
I'm fairly sure I chose that number from historical Spanish territory. Could you show me some screenshots of where you settled?

Great, thanks. Will take care of that soon.

regarding #3, use espionage (you should be building lots of courthouses and that gives lots of espionage)

regarding #2

When Moors are added give some colonial ability in stability to replace Spain if Spain gets over run. Or go with the Exchange to resemble Angkor to Ayutthaya.

Colonial Al-Andalus? That could be interesting, if extremely unlikely...

Well, the primary reasons for Portugal and Spain's colonial success in our timeline were geographical; they were placed at the very edges of Western Europe and thus well-positioned to dominate exploration and over-seas trade when the Age of Exploration began. If al-Andalus ends up supplanting the Christian Iberian states into the Age of Exploration (and I don't just mean Granada), then, placed in the same position geographically, it also stands to become very powerful nautically and/or colonially. Just my two cents. :king:

It probably wouldn't hurt to give the Moors at least a couple colonies so that if Portugal and Spain both die, France and England won't completely dominate the colonization race.

What about Portugal? Moors being successful means all of Iberia is Moorish? And What if they win at Poitiers?

All valid points, but Muslims wouldn't have a motive to go west or south in search of new trade routes, Constantinople, Egypt, and the Levant would still be open to them. Nevertheless, I think it's a very interesting idea.

God, gold, glory. Muslims could still use more of all three than what they had in Europe. We are going to get Moorish conquerors at about the same rate as Dutch or Viking, unless they are nerfed to non-existence post 1300

Not really, the game will be rigged against the Moors so they probably wont exist by colonization, the real beneficiary would be the player.

It is kind of like Rome being able to settle colonies. The Moors are supposed to be gone by that point anyway.

By the way, I'm not sure if it's been posted before but, what does the Italy's "have 3 cities with influential culture" goal means? how much is influential?

"Influential" is one of the culture levels, like legendary.

The English UHV has been fixed, update your SVN.

I've done what you suggest in the faq
"The DoC repository is available HERE. The easiest way to access it under Windows is to download and install Tortoise SVN. After that, you can right-click on your Beyond the Sword\Mods\ folder and the new option "SVN Checkout" will appear. This will open a prompt where you enter DoC's SVN URL ("https://subversion.assembla.com/svn/Dawn_of_Civilization/"). This will create a new folder "Dawn_of_Civilization" in your Mods folder. You will have to rename it to "RFC Dawn of Civilization" for the modmod to work. Afterwards, you only have to right-click on that folder and select "SVN Update" to get my most recent updates."
but when i launch the English save nothing changes.... it still faisl the goal!!
the tortoise log says that you fixed a bug today at 15.30...

afaik if you are hoping a new SVN update will change whatever happened in the past (previous SVN version, before the update), it does not.

If you start a new English games from the beginning, it should work.

No, the bug has already been fixed for longer than that. If you load a game where all the goals are already checked, of course the game doesn't recognize afterwards that all of them are already achieved. But if you use the save before you capture the last city it should work (I'm sure of this because that's what I did).

Could mines giving a slight chance of finding a resource be disabled? It is kind of annoying when playing as Thailand Khmer gets Iron and goes off and builds Spears and Pikes.
