Well the trains are used to transport the cattle or cotton or whatever. That was the reason for cattle drives in the old west, to go to a train station.

Did I hear someone dissing Feminism?

Anyway on topic:

Question, what is the rationale behind increasing, for example, commerce from Pastures and Plantations with railroads (originally, only Mines, Quarries, and Lumbermills (I think) produced an additional hammer with railroads)?

Because trains allow for more efficient logistics?

What has been annoying me to no end is that Watermills now only give one commerce instead of two with all techs. What gives? It's one of my favorite improvements and this nerf added absolutely nothing positive.

So does that mean that if I upload pictures from the Nazi era with swastikas in them (like this), then Germans can see it without repercussions?

Wow.Nice photos of Nazis and Iran .Of course if you post the Iranian ones and talk bad about them, the you should write your will.
I must've confused German law on swastikas with Ebay's rules. (Apparently that site prohibits people from selling/showing items with visible swastikas; this is an example.)

It's interesting then how most game designers (cf. Paradox Interactive, with Hearts of Iron) and other modmakers (cf. Road to War) go to great lengths not to include swastikas, Hitler, and other mentions of Nazism.
Can someone explain why?I never got why they ban it

Hey, it's not my fault that Iran collapsed into squabbling city states in RT's game. Or that Saddam Hussein got funny ideas in real life.

Ebay? I suppose because they don't want to ruin their reputation by becoming a marketplace for Neonazi memorabilia.

Paradox? As I said, I think it's mostly preemptive compliance. In other words, they chickened out, just like Firaxis did with Road to War.

They don't want to lose customers or have a legal issue

And why some people would get offended?I mean, you control the character so you can make Hitler a thousand times worse, better or the same

Well it's different because you aren't German and also it's just a standard.

Something I dont understand. When Im playing as China, why does Mongolia not always spawn as attacking me?

Wars on spawn are randomized.

2 dye resources spawn in 450 AD in France and England. They aren't initially on the map to prevent human exploit of the Carthagian UHV. But as the Carthagian UHV is changed since vanilla RFC, this isn't necessary anymore. I think these resources can be preplaced on the map.

Wouldnt it be better the other way around? Make northern Europe less resource heavy? Playing as the early civs you can settle in all those uber locations for hundreds of years before losing them to flipping. This would mean less resources on starting map and then spawning much later in time for the modern european civs.

I'm liking this idea!

So what exactly is your proposal? Removing some resources from England, Central Europe and Scandinavia?

Yes, just the key ones. Let them appear later symbolizing further urbanization of Europe opening up new mines/pastures/farms etc.

I am mostly thinking about central Europe/Iberia where the resources are supposed to be shared among many civs and therefor plenty.

We can go this idea even far. The resources of a core spawn only at the civ's spawn. The resources of colonies spawn at certain dates. Even more far, the resources of colonies spawn at colony founding by appropriate civ. Even further, each colony will cause the spawn of only the resources of the first ring. i.e. Sofala will spawn only two resources, if you want the rest to spawn you must found a second colony in the same place... etc.

Nah, I don't want that people have to learn where resources pop up so they can correctly found their colonies.

What do you think about the following new Indian UP: can choose Great People type on birth?

Only types with at least one point in the pool would be available. The AI would choose based on prevalent type in the pool, possibly modified by its LH preferences for flavor types.
