It doesn't seem to produce any change in any way, but...

On an other subject, the Chinese UHV says "have 4 golden ages UNTIL 1850", I suppose it means that it only shows up in 1850 (2/3 golden age was my 4th and it didn't get me to win). Am I right ?

Edit : sorry, it just triggered at the end of the 4th golden age.

Yeah, the goal is worded a little bit unfortunate currently. "Experience 4 golden ages by 1850 AD" would be better I guess.

By the way, what's your game speed? Because I was too lazy to test if it works on Epic and Marathon as well. :mischief:

Are patches (from the previous page) included in the complete version?
Yes. If you downloaded your complete files after the last patch was posted (give or take one hour, it takes some time to upload the complete version), you won't need them anymore. They're just for the convenience of everyone who already downloaded the mod and doesn't need the 150 MB again.

I was on normal speed. And on viceroy, so it's not a miracle that I won the UHV. :D

Well, that would require quite a lot scripting and balancing, to say the least :D

Anyway, I just tried something different: it seems that Rhye didn't set Warplans for the wars on spawn, so I let some civ set their warplan against several civs to total war. Examples are Turkey on Arabia, Arabia on Persia or Mongolia on China. The intention was that they really go out and try to conquer the complete area of these civs.

I guess the results speak for themselves:

Next aim is to expand that idea to conqueror events, so that the Amerindian civs don't survive that often.

actually on emperor Turkey is always huge (north africa, persia, arabia , and in my last game they conquerd mongolia and china too)

Yeah, warplans are exposed to Python. The necessary function is PyTeam.AI_setWarPlan(int targetTeamID, int warPlanID).

The warplans are coded as:

NO_WARPLAN = -1,
WARPLAN_ATTACKED_RECENT = 0,
WARPLAN_ATTACKED = 1,
WARPLAN_PREPARING_LIMITED = 2,
WARPLAN_PREPARING_TOTAL = 3,
WARPLAN_LIMITED = 4,
WARPLAN_TOTAL = 5,
WARPLAN_DOGPILE = 6.

About the Italian gold trading problem: in addition to it, I wasn't able to choose anything (techs, gold, etc.) from my side of the trading table when trying to trade with Incas, whom I switched from to Italy. I could choose items from Incas and then ask what they want for it though. Hopefully this helps at least a bit.

Thanks.

On the Mongolian expansion: another of their problems seems to be that China often collapses after they take Khanbaliq, but they don't continue to wage war on the resulting Independents. Maybe I add an autowar against independents for the AI if their opponent collapses.

So in other words, it will hinder the Chinese to construct the Mausoleum of Maussullos?

Go ahead.

It's currently not taken into account, but you're right, it should. Else they would need less GA then displayed.

@Leoreth
For the love of God the Almighty, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE remove Persia from the Ottoman/Turkish Warmap/Settler map!! I cannot STAND this crazy expansion of Turkey into Persia and then India!! Please remove everything from Baghdad/Basrah Eastward on the Ottoman maps (all of their maps). And could you just script a Persian respawn in the 600AD games, to spawn in 1501/1500 AD (for the Safavids). If you can get them to respawn with a sizable army and good techs, it would act as a counterbalance to the Ottoman crazy expansion into Persia, and as a good counterbalance to their supremacy in Mesopotamia.

Thanks! :)

Any chance of a modern China respawning? The Mongolian Yuan dynasty was succeeded by the Chinese Ming in the mid 1300s, but for gameplay purposes could we see a respawned independent China in say maybe 1600 or so? It could have interesting goals like becoming a Communist (with the appropriate Civics, which I can't recall) country by 1940, the largest population by 1900, and the largest economy in the world by 2000?

Mongolia should probably collapse into independent states by the modern era, so that there can be some competition between russia and china for them.

Yeah, the problem is that there is no opposition in Persia and often India. That will change once I have placed a Safavid Persia there.

I guess for now the usual respawn mechanic will suffice (after Nationalism when your occupier is unstable). Mongolia shouldn't be stable for that long anyway.

I wasn't able to choose anything (techs, gold, etc.) from my side of the trading table when trying to trade with Incas

Well I have worse news... I couldn't choose anything from my side of the trading table when trading with some of my vassals (I think it was Egypt and Ethiopia but it just happened from time to time and I didn't pay attention on who it was) as China.
And sometimes the AI wouldn't take more than 3 or 23 gold from me even though I had thousands, (trading techs for world maps is really a poor trade...). I couldn't even propose to give more gold (I would type the amount of gold, press OK, but nothing happened).

By the way, do you have any idea on when the next release will be ?

Another possibility for a modern China might be a Manchu/Jurchen civ? I think both Manchus and Jurchens are historically significant entity separate from rest of Chinese history because at the time, most Chinese people considered them to be foreign occupiers (sort of as in the case for Yuan Dynasty China). Manchuria also was significant in the Sino-Japanese war as a vassal state of Japan.

I think having a modern Chinese civ focused on accomplishing more specific UHV goals of a more modern China (such as the Manchus) might make gameplay in that area of the world more interesting.

Regarding the total war setting, if civ A uses the total war warpath against civ B, does that mean civ B automatically fights civ A with the total warpath as well?
Otherwise I think the total war warpath idea could be applied to Romans vs Carthaginians (Carthage must be destroyed...), Persians to Babylonians, Egyptians and Greeks, Turkey towards the Byzantines and HRE, and Germany towards France and Russia by a certain year.
